I've revised my initial disappointment. I would have gone tall, but that's just me and I'm not paid for these decisions.

I hope he really proves himself.
Would’ve picked Armstrong or Shanahan myself, but I can see the logic. For our next pick I’d go either of those guys if they’re by some chance still there. If not, KPD.

Nobody is taking the talls, not even GWS with back to back picks

Robbie Gray wanted him. Good enough for me.

Yeah I’m baffled as to why they’re still available. It’s giving me some hope (which will probably be crushed shortly).

GWS took a hbf instead of a tall.

And Bulldogs took Cooper Hynes so another medium forward/on baller

Fremantle would have traded with West Coast to get him if we didn’t- that is the only logic in the trade.

A real need- modern footy since the Richmond revolution has put great emphasis on small forwards who put pressure on AND kick goals. With Richards, Berry and the returning SPP, the year of the makeshift small forward (McEntee and DBJ is over).

This also means our best clearance player can play more time in the midfield- JHF had more average clearances than Butters from only 53% CBAs. Now he gets 66% CBAs because we don’t need him forward.

Will play in 2025.

Biography

A crafty left-footed small forward who has proved to be one of the most dangerous players of his type in this year’s Draft pool. Presents on the lead with real speed, works hard up the ground to win the ball, has elite one-touch hands at ground level and innate goal sense.

Booted an equal-high nine goals during the National Championships and averaged 13.2 disposals and three tackles to win All Australian honours. Was also star for the Murray Bushrangers during the Coates Talent League season, averaging 14 disposals and kicking 27 goals, which included four bags of four.

Was a joint winner of the Bushrangers’ best and fairest award and was selected in the Coates Talent League Team of the Year. Did not test at Combine due to illness.

Probably the no 9 but he reminds me of forward zak butters already and not complaining at all of having two butters type in the team
