We may have also psyched the dopey bastards into wanting Tauru more than they wanted a quality mid.

Yeah maybe a little bit, but you've got to remember recruiters watch these kids for years and they put a lot of time into scouting everything about them, its not just how they play in their draft year. Simon Dalrymple is one of the best recruiting guys out there and I have a very healthy respect for his ability to spot talent so I guess if he thinks Tobie can one day go into the midfield then that's fair enough but gee you think that just maybe they didn't rate any of those six midfielders as highly as other people its quite staggering.

I think at some point he has the potential to go into the midfield and be a good player but I think he has more potential to be a great half back than mid but I'm an amateur, he's a professional and one of the best, that's the difference.

I think you can safely assume that FOS will wear the number 5 (as made famous by the McInerneys) and when young Finn is old enough to run around in the number 5 it's fame will have grown due to FOS's triple premierships and Norm Smith Medal.

EDIT: No pressure on young Finn McInerney to live up to its exalted status.

Beyond all the romanticism and ceremony of the numbers, I've always been partial to the idea that a lot of players just go "shotgun!"

Yes it’s great, I was convinced they’d give him 5 because it was his junior number but 2 is so much better; Teasdale, Wade, Alves, Holt, Schwass, Colbert, it’s a storied number at North.

Yeah and he’s the perfect player for 2 IMO. Reminds me a bit of schwatta in his highlight vids ……… just haven’t seen the nasty side of schwatta, but not many have that. What a player he was.
