Thank you again Pinoy Hawk for providing us with information and all the beautiful photos you have taken at training and events.
You are being so thoughtful and kind to keep at it day after day for all of us who can't get to training.
I wholeheartedly agree, it's one of the highlights of my day to see the new photos of the guys and reading the training notes.

Excellent work Pinoy 👍

I’m very much hoping Scaifey can step up in Mitchy’s absence. I love Cholly, but I can’t help but think he played at 97% of his capacity in ‘24, I honestly don’t think there’s a huge amount of improvement left in him.

Would be ecstatic to be proven wrong though of course.

I think Cholly will maintain and improve slightly. His defensive pressure was a stand-out, unfortunately for mine Jasper has the turning circle of a Mack Truck whilst Cholly can turn on a dime. I n stating that I would still love for Scaiffey to come on.

I think though that Chol and Scaife are completely different players in many regards.

Chol is surprisingly quick and agile for a guy his size, has nice skills and has great defensive pressure and is ideally suited to play as a 2nd tall forward / relief ruck (he's good in the ruck with his leap). But he really struggles in the marking contest under physical pressure as we all saw in the two finals which means he can't be a number 1 key forward (especially in finals).

Scaife is more an old fashioned power forward in the mould of Stewart Loewe / Saverio Rocca. A big (big) unit with a booming kick and strong hands but as you say limited mobility.

For me it's really Scaife and Lewis fighting for that role as our primary key forward (Dear again is more an athletic leaper like Chol) and with Lewis still out for a while Jaspar has an excellent shot at showing he belongs in the big league.

Mraz watch (yep, knowing that angles, positioning etc are factors and will not give justice to compare how tall or big he is).
Anyway below are some pix with Mraz standing near other players (Ramma, JUH, Scaife and yeah Serong).
My guess is his published height of 198cm is accurate enough.
Cross fingers that he will come good and be our next KPD (or the next Sam Taylor).

Unless we are able to find someone to take centre bounce ruck contests Chol is safe for awhile. We aren't going to risk Weddle, Dear and Lewis in there. Nash used to get killed at centre bounces in 2023 because he has no leap, with the new rules he might be able to just get away with

One of my main take aways from these is just how big Ramma is!

Thanks for that. Anyone know much about the seating at Adelaide Oval? Given there's not usually much time to get these sorts of tickets, it's probably best if I'm clear ahead of time! I know I don't want a standing ticket but anyone know what Category 3 reserve is like compared to Category 1 or 2?

"As a Hawks member you'll be able to choose from one of the following ticket options:
  • One complimentary Category 3 Reserved Seat or General Admission on The Hill Standing Ticket
  • Upgrade to a discounted Reserved Seat in Category 1 or Category 2
  • Upgrade to one ticket to The Pepsi Collective
  • Should you also wish to attend the other games at Adelaide Oval, your Gather Round barcode can be used to access a Multi Match Pass"
