Ginni looks in great shape, very lean.

He really is underrated as an endurance athlete he covered some serious kms across half forward for us this year.

The Pies were wasting that ability playing him as a forward pocket (even though he kicked a lot of goals for them in that role).
Spot on and with Moore & Croc that do the same ……. as a collective group they so much help out in the middle of the ground. Some call it hockball but it’s just hard running and quick ball movement across the entire ground.

Despite his party reputation, any food post he puts on his Instagram story is generally an incredibly healthy choice.
Not a chance that lad wasn't stewing on the last two weeks of the 2024 season.
Would have been FUMING with himself and the way he allowed himself to take the blame for Ports attitude shift.

You also get to be in the guard of honour. It’s exorbitant, sure, but it’s to make money off the wealthier hardcore supporters. If they want to bankroll the club I say let them.

Stamford Plaza, which is a good hotel but the location is brilliant as you’re a stone’s throw from the ground.
I had my (first) wedding reception there. It's actually a great place. Yes, it's expensive but this is a club organised thing, so they're not going to give you a shitarse place miles away from the ground.

Definitely the best place I’ve stayed in Adelaide. Granted the last time I was there for work I had to book last minute and it was in the middle of an Ashes test so I ended up in the smallest room in the city which felt like a storage cupboard that had been converted. It was in the bowels of the building to such an extent the hotel staff had to show me where the room was because you’d never find it yourself.

I know that the excitement and hyperbole is always evident at this time of the year. However we seem to have great depth (some say too much?) and plenty of competition for spots. Best 22/23 will be challenging and probably not worth trying until February.
No list cloggers to be seen.
You can't have too much depth. Repeat out loud 10 times.

Sounds very Douglas Adams. Was there a sign saying "Beware of the leopard" as well?

So, for tallish to tall backs we have: Weds, Frosty, Barras, Battle, Sic, Scrim, plus a couple waiting in the wings. Yeah we’re definitely gunna line up like that….
You asked if he’d set foot in the back line.

You were told by TheFourPillars that he’s training there. Nothing more.

What did you want ?

It's Adelaide, nowhere is miles away from the ground! 😉

Take GAJ. He was bog average for the first few years. Then all of a sudden he becomes a superstar.
Another is Jobe. Complete hack who wins a Brownlow within a year.

Watson didn't win a Brownlow, he cheated and stole one. Still hasn't given it back I understand.

Glad you aren’t the list manager then. Of course you can, but it’s better than having too little. Players have a limited window to maximise their career and won’t stay forever if not playing seniors when they could be somewhere else.
The key to it is being ahead of it and ensuring you don’t lose the players you want and/or that you are in the best position possible to capitalise when players invariably leave for more opportunity, money or both. Something to their credit I think GWS have done a pretty good job of for any club and an amazing job as an expansion club.

There is nothing in your explanation I disagree with, but I think the statement, "You can't have too much depth" remains true. Perhaps you refer to list cloggers, that's not real depth. Depth means proper AFL quality players that can stand in and perform their role properly. Yes, they move on but that's the nature of the beasty. Yes, the trick is to keep as many around as you can. It's dynamic. Currently we are well stocked, other than the clearly development players everyone else is AFL quality. Next few years we'll lose a few. Depth is vital to campaigns. So I'm sticking with....

You can't have too much depth.
