And biggest passenger in a Test Series goes to Nathan Lyon.

Yes he had a couple of moments, but for a 5 Test series he was hardly sighted.

Surely the selectors need to look at the future and see who is going to replace Lyon as the country’s next mainline spin bowler.

Is it Murphy or is there another option?

Respectfully disagree.

Steve Waugh inherited the most stacked Australian national team when he took the reigns from Tubby.

Look at the bowling attack Waugh took to his first Ashes as Captain, by way of an example;

Shane Warne
Glenn McGrath
Brett Lee
Jason Gillespie
Damien Fleming

That's a murderers row of all-time great Australian bowlers right there.
Ugh i love these blokes. Including the batsmen at the time too.

Now I just feel so indifferent to the national team.

FWIW Dale Steyn is still the best I've seen to do it live. Man was just a menace.

From highlights, Malcolm Marshall.
You present Dale Steyn i present to you Shaoib Akhtar.

To be fair it was a seamers dominated series.

And I'm not convinced Murphy is the answer.

Lion has been such a vital player for us for all these years and I don't see who's going to replace him in what is such a crucial role.

Great bowler.

Wasim was the best. Bowled 150ish off 9 step run up. swung it both ways and if he was Aussie (ie: had our fielders, not bloody Inzi et al) he'd have another 100+ wickets.

The only reason he was hardly sighted was because of the pitches served up and the quality of our fast bowling. He's still bowling well and deserves his spot.

Roosurgence Lyon is the king of SGW. After Hazlewood, Cummins & Starc, of course Batsmen go out trying to get after him.

You can count on 1 finger how many games he's won for us.
I never got to see him bowl sadly 😔
Didn't see much of him, but remember sitting with my old man at the WC in '92 wondering why he was barracking for Pakistan. I reckon I was 9 and he was truly immense. Could seriously Bat too, definitely a #8, rather than 9 or 10. Dangerous. 414 wickets @ 23 & 3 100s, HS of 257. Probably should have 600 wickets with all the chances that were dropped off him.
Was super quick, 150+ with shortest run up of any fast bowler in history.

Bloke could play.

Lives in Brighton too, with his Aussie Mrs. Ripping dude, probably the nicest absolute champion one could ever meet.
Wasim Akram?

Kind of miss the older VB trilateral ODI series. It gave chances to some of the smaller test playing nations (Zimbabwe/NZ/Sri Lanka, etc) and some needed extra exposure and games against the best. Not to mention some really good neutral matches.
20 20 has wrecked the rhythm of summer.

There is not much to watch until the footy season now.
