Have seen all but 2 teams play so far and would agree Thurgoona top to date followed by Wahgunyah.
Mitta way too slow to match it with either. Nelson boys and a couple of others wouldn't run out of sight in a dark night.
Absolutely agree with what you've said here.

Anyway - you're dead right - if the Cobras want the rest of the comp to start & look at them as contenders it starts this week. I haven't seen many games this year, but have spoken to a few that have acknowledged how difficult it's been with...
Congratulations to Paul Harris on 100 games, a great achievement at any club.
While Mr Francis was named in the best I don't think you got the treat you were expecting. He'll need to do a lot more work in the gym if he is going to carry the Hoes for the rest of the season.
Reasonably. Looking at clearances a swag of players coming from all over the place to Amateurs. A few quality leagues mentioned as well.
Does this mean, with so many incoming players, there is a corresponding number of outgoing?
Would have to agree. Don't know a lot about Div 3 but have seen the guys you mention in action in Ovens and Murray over the years. Uninjured I would tip Cristoforo to top the goal kicking. Very good shot and gets plenty of the footy. Generally smaller grounds will also suit him.
Great day for the the Gryphons and certainly well celebrated. Terrific club effort to win both grades (as was predicted many weeks ago).
Roberts again well held by Madden. Entire Monash backline was great, often under extreme pressure. Poor kicking cost Monash early (3.10) but that came good...
Monash in both grades. Only one more game for each grade for my prediction from earlier in the season to become a reality. Depth of talent and numbers have got them to this point but they won't be resting on their laurels. They will be ready to fire this Saturday. Looking forward to both games...
Quasi was correct. While the Monash big guns fired the so called "lesser lights" more than did their jobs. While Roberts got 3 goals, 2 came from 50 metre free kicks paid up field. Means he only kicked 1 marking goal. Monash full back beat him hands down.
As predicted Monash into the gf in...
Dismiss Monash at your own peril. As with most clubs they have had ins and outs all season. They lost one game (in the last 20 seconds). Apart from that have done it in their stride. To think they won't be ready for this Saturday and to bring up the "match fitness" theme is ridiculous.
We can...
Doesn't really matter who wins out of Manningham or Sth Mornington. Neither will worry Mt Lilydale in the preliminary final who will be looking to rebound after they lose to Monash this Saturday (while Monash make the most of another week's rest).
Have a few ideas who will match up on the...
Don't want to dodge the question. I'm sure a couple of changes will be made and plenty of players given a spell on the bench during last Saturday's games. Very strong wind at Chadstone's ground which contributed to inaccuracy of kicking. Opposition putting 11 players in their backline in 2nd qtr...
I didn't say Monash were certainties just that they would be cherry ripe. ie no excuses. Would be quite confident in saying the Gryphs are far from complacent and they will prepare for any/all upcoming games including Chadstone this week. A reason for a successful season so far.
Great to see some spirited discussion re players and grades. When all is said and done player eligibility for 1s and 2s will be determined after the last round. If it is within the rules then let clubs pick whoever they want in 1s and 2s.
Manningham and Mt Lilydale have had a few hard games...
Both teams will be stronger with players to come back. Missing from Monash last Saturday were Booth and Rose in the middle and O'Neill in the backline. Also means the Monash 2s will be stronger for their anticipated clash with NB.
Re: D4 2010
Did Monash change match up on #2 in 2nd half? Win assures Monash of minor premierships in 1s and 2s (Bye this week and Chadstone last round).
Will be interesting to see how Mt Lilydale respond in next 2 weeks. They have 2 reasonably tough games in the lead up to finals.
Agree with your tip but not the heart bit. Think you will find that Roberts and Rodwell will find the going a lot harder this time around. If the mountain men are relying on them as avenues to goal they might struggle to kick a score.
Johnny Have used my networks and can now advise Monash B&F candidates. McConville has been consistent all year. Booth has the most best on grounds but has missed a few games as well. The word however is Fletcher is the one.
Malloy would be up there though a bit hard to be too sure. I would think that with a number of pretty good players that the votes would be shared around a bit.
If their after game player awards are anything to go by there would a few in the running (Rutherford, Wells, Willis and others). Will...
Also looking forward to it (Monash v. Mt Lilydale). Genuinely believe the tables will be turned in the 1s this time around, especially if it is a dry track.
I do have some things to say about opposition teams (some complimentary others not so) and I thought I was giving the opposition 2s credit. They had some good players who could easily have played in their seniors. My mail is that the midfield player who was in 1s Rd1 (and dominated) played 2s...
Seems I have created a stir. I don't have a problem. Rules are rules and to date have been followed. Ruck Machine et al can do all the research they like about ins and outs. I was simply making 2 points. Last week Nth Brunswick had several players in 2s who were clearly better than players in...
If they didn't stack their 2s the selectors might need to make a few changes this week. There were guys running around the 2s who were way better than at least 5 of their 1s. Hope they are rewarded for their endeavours.
You may be right. Maybe a few of the NB 2s played above themselves and/or a few of their 1s didn't have their hearts in it and played accordingly. Doesn't really matter though as Monash was still to good in both grades.
Additional info about Monash v Nth Brunswick. Apparently the Nth Brunswick 2s had quite e few "good" players while their 1s had several who weren't firsts material. They wouldn't have stacked their 2s in order to stay on top would they? The plan didn't work if that was the case.
Monash continue on their merry (not complacent) way. 2nds win avenged the only defeat in the first round and 1sts in a canter. Swinburne's win over Eley Park confirms my 2 horse race theory. Looking forward to the seniors Mt Lilydale rematch on the 31st. (2nds will be an ugly scoreline)
How did...
Typical yobbo response. I haven't had the opportunity to meet Mr Osborne, not yet at least, and I don't recall claiming Monash would be undefeated. The My Lilydale game was close with the better team on the day winning. The other close encounters you refer to were victories for Monash. Good...
