Most likey the best KPD available but you never know if a bonafide first rounder slides. Austin has referenced a few times the need to find some key position strength behind the ball.
One of Harry O'Farrell, Noah Mraz & James Barrat would be a big chance if still on the board.
Just can't see us drafting Jagga IF one of FOS or Draper are still on the board.
Jagga is a jet but if we've really listened to Austin these last couple of months he has emphasised a want for speed, power & burst - essentially a P.O.D to our current midfield group of CRIPPS, WALSH, CERRA, LORD...
FOS is the chocolate on the vanilla ice cream. Whilst he may not accumulate as much as SW18, he is more dynamic as a burst player, marking ability & goalkicker. The comparisons to a young Isaac Heeney are reasonably accurate.
Per Herald Sun's Chris Cavanagh; 'While the feeling is Finn O'Sullivan is their preference, Carlton has expressed significant interest in South Australian Sid Draper and met again with him last Friday (8th of Nov).'
I wonder if this is a ploy by Austin to force Adelaide into trading up for #2...
I think you’re right.
Even if North pick swap #2 for Adelaide’s #4 you’d suspect that’s just the Crows ensuring they get Draper and don’t have to sweat on the Blues taking him…
If Austin wants FOS (which I think he does) this scenario would be ideal as I still think North are big chance of...
Yeah. Reality is we’ll be 95% certain who we’re drafting when Cal drops his final phantom draft.
His sources, intel with recruiters, list managers & player managers is second to none in the draft space.
He rarely misses.
Tauru, whether it’s at pick 2 or pick 11 may well turn out to be the shrewdest pick in the draft.
Fair play if North back themselves and take him higher than the so called experts.
Any ITK news on our discussions with Grainger-Barass and Ethan Phillips as delisted free agents? The window for DFA signings closes tomorrow I believe.
I gather we're looking at McMahon as a rookie draft selection?
Actually now see him as a 200cm mid who can mark, kick goals and win clearances himself. Being able to ruck is simply a bonus. Proper unicorn. The late season Essendon & Geelong games were ridiculous. Pay him what he wants. He’ll be playing All Australian levels these next five years.
Yeah i think Richmond play it safe with pick 1 which will allow them to be a little adventurous with their later first round picks.
The 'safest' pick in the whole pool is Jagga Smith.
That said, I expect North will trade out pick 2 to Richmond in an exchange for 6 & 10 or something like that...
Yeah one of the lowest pressure games we played though. Yet to be convinced on his kicking in a highr pressure environment or his accuracy when kicking inside 50 (which is now a must for any good half back).
I love his work in traffic. He's got a great spin-turn and is elite at finding that...
Not sure he has the kicking skills for that role?
I would also like to see him retained for at least another 12 months. Looks a confidence player. Just needs to put together a couple of BIG games in a row and I suspect he'll go to another level (in terms of finding the footy and impacting...
and cop the wrath of their supporter base for picking a kid projected to go in the rookie draft in middle of the 2nd round.
That said, hell hath no fury like a scorned Silvagni...
Just another relatively high draft pick (1st or 2nd rd) we haven't developed anywhere near good enough...
Boekhorst, Dow, O'Brien, Stocker, Philp, SPS...
not to mention all the high draft picks we plundered out of GWS over the years that have been a disaster.
this is hilarious
I guess you didn't consider Curnow's five goal/BOG game against Gold Coast that ultimately got us into the finals last year?
Or, the six goal game/BOG win against Collingwood a couple of rounds earlier?
I just feel we've buggered around for the best part of three years trying to make him something he's not... (defender).
Now that he's shown glimpses of being a useful, marking third forward we should at least allow him twelve months in this role.
He is 23yo, we paid #18 for him, we've put all...
‘sold the farm’? Huh?
We have effectively used our first round pick next year to upgrade from 12 to 3 in this year’s draft. This year being the draft almost every expert says is FAR superior not least because next year's draft is dominated by academy kids & is highly compromised.
We have...
