I just don't see how we don't involve players in the Barrass trade. Hawks don't have the draft capital.
I don't know the players well enough but a Henry Hustwaite or Sam Butler would be worth a look in a deal. They are the extra 2nd rounders that makes it work.
Barrass + future 2nd for 1st...
I think Schofield is trying to maintain credibility by being (appropriately) harsh on the Eagles. A bit like Xavier Ellis. If they were one of those guys that kept saying everything's going well and we'll be in finals next year then they'd look just like the homers in Victoria.
In the last few pages we've had slander of Will Schofield & Dom Sheed. Two iconic performances in the 2018 premiership. Might be time for a few people to pull their head in. 2018 justifies the last 5 years of mess.
I'm on the replace Bailey Williams train. But where does it come from? Besides Matt Flynn no one on our list is close. Who's the back up ruckmen we can pinch from somewhere else?
The win was important for us... because we have Harley Reid at stake. Need to make sure he enjoys some wins during this stage so he stays for the premiership victories.
For all the talk of not having enough draft picks we are getting two first rounders into the team next year with Hewett & pick #3.
With Ginbey redeployed Reid, Hewett & Pick #3 supported by Yeo & TK all of a sudden looks like a promising midfield group and we don't have to fluff around with the...
Mostly I'm just happy that Ginbey seems likes he can be an above average defender. With the Hewett injuries & Ginbey midfield ability I was starting to worry we flushed a year in our rebuild.
Tim English is a terrible ruckmen. Good footballer. But probably the worst tap ruckmen in the league.
I think it was Xav Ellis said he hadn't won a hitout contest all year.
We've done reverse moneyball. Moneyball would suggest you identify elite skills that impact winning but are under appreciated.
Like identifying Greg Clark as a clearance ball winner... except we play him as a wing and highlight his lack of pace.
Yeah, was it 3 AA's in his first 100 games? Smashed all the intercept records. Everyone rolled out the cash.
We don't have a talent/salary cap issue. It's a balance issue. It's a tactics issue. Gov certainly isn't the issue, even if he's not in top form.
For me it's;
- Hurn retired. Two soft tissue injuries. All timer, but he turns 34 in a few weeks.
- Reddo delisted. Wouldn't get a spot anywhere else.
- Hutch delisted. Clearly Simpson doesn't want to play him.
- Vardy delisted. Seriously 3 fwds and 2 rucks is not working - better off just...
St.Kilda are paying overs for Brad Crouch. If Sheed could run around doing whatever he wanted on a losing side he'd have Crouch covered by a mile.

Melbourne are top of the pops. Even their success has been sad.
Win a Brownlow medal --> It's Shane Woewodin.
Play in a GF --> Miss finals next season and go back to irrelevance.
Make a prelim with a young team --> get flogged, have two bad years, don't improve and Angus Brayshaw has footy amnesia.
I think Kayo is great value. It's $25 per month but allows for 2 x simultaneous users and can become 3 users for $35.
Ideally the cost won't jump if Stan and some of the other streamers keep pushing for sports.
- Every AFL game plus classic matches.
- Enough NBA games.
- Cricket broadcast is...
I'm an Eagles fan but can see Sheed being the victim of a cap squeeze. Unless Shuey & Gaff are scaling down in their salaries as they get older, the pressure of Yeo & Kelly will start to pinch and Sheed might find an offer elsewhere too good to refuse.
I'm hoping Yeo goes to half back with bursts in the middle. Witho's kicking, Yeo's burst, Gov's intercept, we go back to having a half back line that can be damaging.
Duggan can play wing - which isn't what Dom Sheed or Redden are good at. Sheed - Kelly- Shuey is a very handy midfield group...
