    Looking for - Players/Coaches 2018

Coleraine FNC is looking for senior footballers and netballers in 2018. Based in the South West District Football Netball league (Hamilton and Portland area of Western Victoria), the club is seeking interest from any player looking for an opportunity to play football/netball in 2018 with...

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

Thats pretty good actually. :) I havent seen cravens since I was a kid!

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

It was brought up before that these sentiments were too 'club orientated' and not considerate of player welfare. I don't know when the shift occurred but I reckon it should be about the clubs first. Players come and go, clubs shouldn't. Clubs should be able to do whatever they need to to ensure...

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

Big risk to take though letting it get to the PSD stage. If they can't get an ESS/STK deal done, Carlton will surely reassess their stance before the draft goes ahead. Despite what they indicate their plans are now, their board will still look at Carlisle as a ready made option with youth on his...

If he goes into PSD, you won't get him. Carlton are waiting with baited breath if he's on the table. Nothing surer. A 23 yo key swingman to replace Henderson with an early pick is a steal for them.

Not at all, but I don't reckon you'll come out on top in this one. I reckon you'll pay overs. But that happens to a number of clubs each year. Look at how we got unders for Ryder last year, you wear it and hope you get on the good end of the stick next time.

Do you think Hawthorn will give it one last pitch before week's up or is that a completely dead deal?

Am I missing something here? Has there been some QLD team picked I don't know of or do these players not make 'your' QLD team? Some great players getting overlooked here otherwise

Do they really? I don't think anyone would be too surprised if this was Essendon's tactic. Most clubs would hold out for the best deal if they had a week to negotiate, they don't owe St Kilda anything. Might as well drive the hardest bargain because Hawthorn is waiting in the wings. Nothing like...

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

I disagree a little bit on this one. If players could soley choose where they wanted to play GWS wouldnt have a team. Brisbane would be in a world of strife too. For such a short work/career in this field (approx 8-10 years on average) I don't know that work/life balance is so affected that...

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

I agree, I reckon this is what will happen early next week. Pick 5 is a must but I don't want to hand over 23. Carlisle is a known quantity - more certainty than him than in an unproven 18yo in the draft. I reckon Essendon should hold out all week and strongarm St Kilda into folding. Can always...

In reality you're 100% right, but for those of us that still dream of the clubs being appropriately compensated for years of work put into developing these players (so others can benefit!), I hope we Essendon members get something worthwhile. The Ryder deal left a really sour taste

But unlike Gibson/Crowe (muppets), you should take Riewoldt on that very technicality! No room for Spurr? had a good year

    State of Origin 2015

Nick Riewoldt, David Armitage and Lee Spurr all handy as well

Happy for players like Carlisle to have an a opinion and nominate a club if they wish to leave their team post season, but it shouldn't really count for much. If Essendon get the best, or a better deal with another club, then they should be free to wheel and deal as they please. Asking to be...

    State of Origin 2015

2015 is over and while State of Origin in the AFL will most likely never happen again, it's still worth having a crack at putting the best 22 players from each state on a whiteboard together. Who gets in your teams?

    Workshop 2015 AFL Jumper Ideas

Yeah fair enough, to be honest of all the jumper monikers the lion is probably the best any way. Maybe the mongram is a bridge too far. I would love to see the old colours retained tho

    Workshop 2015 AFL Jumper Ideas

There is something prestigious about guernseys that don't use their moniker in the jumper design I reckon, I mean, I like the jumpers that rely on colours and pattern/design to sell the brand (grass roots style)- I think club monikers should be used for marketing, not matchwear. I would love to...

    Workshop 2015 AFL Jumper Ideas

How good would it be to just see the Brisbane lions wear Fitzroy colours away (predominantly red) and Brisbane Bears colours (Predominantly yellow) in Brisbane. 2 teams recognised, equal share, colours please both crowds. Throw in a hybrid monogram and bobs your uncle. As an impartial supporter...
