Outside of Murphy hopefully never being selected again, I think Dowling is the other player who potentially gets pushed back with the arrival of ANB, that high HF role is one he could played as he builds up his midfield minutes
If tex is struggling physically to get up week in week out, I wonder if they’d look at Worrell to play forward?
Let’s them play Butts, Murray and Keane
More that I see other players moving past him and him looking for other opportunities, same as Butts.
Ideally you’d keep both for depth, but that may not appeal to them long term and they both have some value in a trade.
Maybe starting on the bench and rotating through both areas as needed?
Probably the best we can hope for at this stage, and hopefully not taking too much game time from other developing players.
Surely Marnus to open rather than the first gamer who hasn’t batted there at first class level. Maybe the switch the ML needs to reignite his career a bit as his last few years have been so-so at best.
Smith at 3 and McSweeney at 4 or the other way round.
Feel like Hinge is far more consistent and damaging when he’s playing behind the ball rather than the wing, seems like he gets a bit lost when pushing too high up the ground. He shouldn’t have been moved to accommodate Laird.
Imagine how much fun and exciting the draft could be with live trading and/or delisting of players!!!!!
With pick 45, the Adelaide crows have delisted Chris Burgess and traded Sam Berry for the draft rights to Alex Dodson!!
Would be an absolute ball tearer of a night!
And to be fair our experienced players really don’t provide much in terms of on field leadership- outside of Tex- they’re usually the ones making the comical errors and then pointing fingers after the fact.
IMO we get more leadership from players like Michaelanney, Worrell, Soligo etc then we...
True, but are the successful coaches able to listen and take on feedback, trust that the assistant may have different ideas worth trying when challenged? Probably yes, is this Nicks capable of this?
He feels very stubborn and arrogant in his views and system, and we’re the poorer for it.
Especially given that with the changes to the bidding system next year, and the depth of the draft this year, it was a great opportunity to bring in some more players who can fill some of the holes in our list.
Strachan is another who looks exactly the same as when he was first drafted, and Himmelberg never seemed to put on any muscle mass to his frame in 8 years.
We have a few players who seem incapable of making progress on the body size.
🤞
I don’t think he gets back in as a HB with the increased depth we have in that position, potentially recast as a wingman and putting some pressure on Sholl to keep his form up?
I liked Kyle Marshall as a KPD option in his draft year, but he hasn’t really kicked on since he was on the list.
Anyone watched his games to see if he’s worth keeping an eye on?
Agree on Scully, he was always going to need 3-4 years before his body filled out.
Was an absolute mare of a year for him at shield level, outside of one big 100 against Queensland I think at the Gabba.
Hopefully he can get his form back as I think he can be a quality player.
Didn’t they put him on Merrett for quite a bit of time, in his 2nd or 3rd game and he struggled to put the clamps on him?
Which is understandable IMO, Merrett is an absolute gun.
Anyone who watched the Hawks more often care to speculate why he’s failed so dismally?
I thought he showed a reasonable amount of promise in his first couple of years.
