Toughest test in football, but no one is unbeatable and we have a midfield absolutely capable of dominating stoppages (not that there is any guarantee we will). If we do manage to win those stoppages and Big H and Charlie can at least give our smalls a chance to lock the ball in, then we can win...
Another tearing down a GREAT of the game. Leigh Matthews was an absolute champion of the game and would have been a champion in any era. He played to the situation of the era, but he was a phenomenal footballer. Another that is clearly inside the top 5 players i have ever seen
Sorry about posting in such an old thread, just seen this now and it is laughable to consider either player overrated. Ablett is the best footballer i have ever seen in my life and SOS is the best fullback i have ever seen. The complaints about SOS being an octopus and he would give away free...
Twice won the B&F in a team making the grand final, multiple time All Australian, one of the best ever representative players for South Australia
Bradley certainly was given no favours in the Brownlow, one umpire actually used Bradley as an example where they would think .. who was best...
Anyone underrating him needs to wake up to themselves. They either didn't watch him play, have very little ability to notice a quality footballer or they were just trying to create issues. Craig Bradley was comfortably one of the best players in the competition every year for 10+ years from the...
The people that were strongly involved in this and those who turned a blind eye in a see no evil... approach are still entrusted with the safety and well being of young men. I find it really alarming that you do not see that as a statement of fact.
It would send a message that this will not be...
I do mean this with the greatest respect, but I am afraid that if you believe they have rectified their issues then you are unfortunately in denial. I have been there, I have been a Carlton supporter pissed that they AFL dare to come down so hard on my club and that we should fight it every step...
Well Jill Meagher's murder was a criminal case, it is unlikely this is going to be a criminal case and far more likely a civil (if indeed it is in the courts). Now I do not believe that a sporting organisation must follow all regulations followed in a civil or criminal case and as such it makes...
I am not even convinced that they would. In a team or individual sport an individual is ultimately responsible for their supplements and ensuring what they take complies. Otherwise organisations would hire some lacky, pay them a lot of money so when busted the finger can point at them.
So yes...
The reality in this situation is that a coach would be unbelievably negligent to not have knowledge of the supplements program of an elite sporting group and in fact should be sacked on that alone (if it was true).... But.. Is it conceivable that 20-30+ players were on a supplement program and...
You are right.. they don't...
But what they do show is he was aware of the methodology...
That is what Essendon are far more likely to be done on than any tests picking up actually prohibited substances.. The biggest thing to come out is that these message implicate Hird in the methodology.
I hate Caro and Fatprick Smith... more than any other 'journos' and by a fair margin, but do you really think that Hird's position is tenable if he had knowledge of the IV Usage?
You see this seems to indicate 'oh it was a lesser charge', but all players on your list receiving supplements via IV...
Is English a second language to you or you just struggle with the word viable?
Because to my knowledge, travelling back to Salem in 1692 isn't really that viable....
Talking of viable options... Guessing that we have now discounted the first 'option' apparently the only other options if you...
A very handy footballer, with a very penetrating kick, he is quick and he chases hard.
The issue of course is whether he can get in the right head space.
Was going well for over 18 months, then was a little off last year, came out he had hip issues and then never made it back in the...
In terms of us heading towards a flag... absolutely Judd has brought us closer than Kennedy and the other picks would have.
But... that is not writing off Kennedy at all who I think is a superstar and could easily go on to dominate the competition for the next 8-10 years. Eagles have picked up...
Well it is official. I have just found the biggest moron on any forum, covering any topic on the internet. In over 12 years of internet forums across a range of subjects... CM86 has just taken the cake.
To come on and talk the rubbish you are talking.... An intellectual for a start wouldn't be...
You are not very educated in football history are you?
Using your very own team as a barometer.... would you say they had experience in 1995? Then would you say that we got a good hard game that year?
When you work that one out sunshine, maybe go back and look at who our hardest opponent was...
This...
Having grown up in Geelong, as an opposition supporter I used to love to go down to watch Geelong games to watch him play. I would hope he had a great game, but Geelong lost.
Easily the best footballer I have ever seen, to me he is the Michael Jordan, Don Bradman or Walter Lindrum...
I don't think Melbourne will be rebuilding... They will continue to build, but it isn't a rebuild.
They have the youth, they just need them to age, much like Richmond really, though I am starting to think the Tiges might be a year closer at the moment.
Dean Bailey would have been assessed against the same sort of criteria and if you think for a second that he had the players and club going in the right direction you are delusional. Pretty sure this thread is about Damien Hardwick and his extension and as I said, I cannot see why he would not...
I think the emotions of Jim Stynes only plays small parts during team addresses and then a few minutes into the game.
At the end of the day they are AFL footballers and you can't have the emotions outside the game play on your mind all game.
Poor effort by them, but does not in reality...
I like the guy. It might take some time, but I think he is trying to change the attitudes of guys that have been in the system a long time. There is no doubt some at Melbourne have got used to losing and then being supported by their coach. He is drawing a line and saying "If you play like crap...
Re: Brisbane vs Carlton @ The Gabba. Thursday 7.40pm
I love Rusty, but I would drop him for Duigs this week.
I hope he regains his 2010 form, he was disappointing the other night.
If (I hope it doesn't happen) Waite is out, then I would try Hammer as a semi permanent forward, bring Duigs...
It has already been said, but there are moron supporters of every club and then the entire group gets judged. It is ironic, because 99% of a clubs supporters would not associate with the ferals that do rubbish like this, but there is a habit of bonding all groups that support a club together...
Probably the best Brisbane player I have seen (and over the last 12 or so years they have had some gems).
Absolute superstar and one of the very best few midfielders in my time watching the game.
I think if you back a coach to rebuild a list you are backing them to do just that and it is likely to come at the cost of short term success. So many times clubs (including ours and Tigers) have tried to take a short cut to success and so many times it is built on falsehoods.
Surely his...
Each club has them, though I can't think of many at the moment, some that come to mind though are
Oliver and Angwin (Carlton), Mark McGough (Collingwood), David Spriggs (Geelong), Allen Jakovich (Melbourne) are some that come to mind, but the grand daddy of them all was....
Adrian McAdam. I...
I am not sure that many of the goals classify as junk time goals. That main burst of goals that got Carlton over 30 points up came when the game was right in the balance, but anyway not really why I am posting.
I don't think this is a Richmond Con or False Dawn... I just think expectations are...
