Ha, I'm glad someone else noticed this. I was looking at the player sponsorship page the other day and noticed the same thing. I couldn't believe that they had Ryan Lonie up so high. Granted the levels would have been decided at the start of the season but he's still ahead of Dane Swan who...
I started the year with no medallions, just a note in the mail each week to use that week to get in the social club.
Then I recieved in two separate letters 2 different medallions. Both are different in quality as well. One is hand engraved on the back with not much protective enamel on the...
As far as i'm concerned today is official Gavin Brown Day! I'm so happy for him. I have always respected how he played and presented himself. I do miss watching him play.
Has anyone seen the tribute video on the Collingwood website from the induction. Its great, reminds you what the good...
I would love for the Pies to be responsible for handing Carlton their largest losing margin ever.
On a side note, is the farewell for Bucks, Licca and Jimmy really happening before the game? Why is it being done at an away match?
Like the two previous posts I don't bother with the family day's anymore either. Too many people being too pushy to get an autograph.
Back in the day it was still busy but the players were less hounded. You'd often find a bunch of them standing around doing they're thing. They'd have time...
BEST. DAY. EVER!!!!
I was 8 and still remember every part of that day. I was distraught when that ferral Daniher knocked out Gavin Brown but was so happy when he made it back out on the field.
I still miss Darren. Jimmy Clement marked the ball in the exact same spot during a game this year...
The centreline is brilliant. Do not change it. I just count myself lucky that i got to see all those brilliant men play so many times.
To those that missed seeing Pants play (anyone born in 1992 onwards), you have missed out on seeing someone truly great.
The good thing about NRL is that their administration sometimes listens to the fans. After the Superleague fiasco they pay more attention to the fans issues these days. At the start of the year they brought in a new rule that did not go down well with players, coaches, commentators fans etc...
He was a great player but probably would have been better going straight into coaching as an assistant. He's losing respect in his commentary role as each game goes by.
I think he should give the Media gig away and go into a club next year as an assistant. Work his way up to senior coach...
Question for you all. At most games this season i've noticed that as soon as a player kicks a goal for the Pies, they go straight to the bench afterwards.
The runner doesn't seem to get to all of them before that goal so I wonder, is this is a strategy that the players know about already...
My club:
Heath Shaw
Harry O'Brien
Travis Cloke
Scott Burns
Simon Prestigiacomo
James Clement
Basically all except a select few who will remain nameless hehe.
Other clubs:
Adelaide: Mark Ricciuto - great servent of his club.
Brisbane: Jonathon Brown - Brilliant player
Fremantle: Tazza for old...
So its going to be a big game, whoop di doo. If people were organised they'd already have their tickets.
The medallion club might look empty but its always full, you just can't see that most fans are sitting behind the glass in the restaurant or the bar. The carlton v hawthorn game was a...
I resent this comment. You always here it from the crowd "its not netball ump". But to be honest, no its not because in Netball the players are allowed more contact. I'm a netball umpire and yes contact is a rule but different to football the players are allowed to contest for the ball. The...
Because the game was a Carlton home match so all the Carlton corporate hospitality (Presidents dinner etc) were fed up and had gone home or had gone back into the room to the bar.
A few years ago someone asked him this question and he said he liked wearing the long sleeve because he thought his arms were a bit like chicken wings so he keeps them covered up.
I must admit, he does look funny when he wears the short sleeve.
I think they should give it a break for a year and then bring it back. It shouldn't be retired forever like Darren's.
I'm still cranky they didn't retire Gavin Brown's for a year.
this isn't the first time they've done that. I remember a similar round happened last year, something like Richmond v Melbourne at TD on the same day as Doggies v Saints at the G. Unusual.
I recall seeing a similar post to this a few weeks ago and everyone got on their high horse because nothing bad could possibly be said against the McG. Good on you guys keeping an open mind and giving credit where its due. The McG on the new stand side is definitely struggling, it doesn't help...
The roof is closed for all wet weather matches and all night matches. Night matches to make it comfortable for the crowd. The AFL get money to have it on TV but also want bums on seats so they want people to come along if its cold or miserable.
Damien Adkins, Brent Tuckey, Chris Curran.
Was a big fan of Brett James before he went back to Adelaide and won 2 premierships!!
Luke Godden was good. Andrew Pugsley was another name I saw mentioned before.
I still wished we'd never got rid of Sav - was proud to be at his final game last...
Too soon to tell. Wait until the end of the season when the 'new club rush' has worn off. Everyone plays well at a new side because they want to impress. You can't call it at this early stage.
