Exactly. Just on this draft haul:
I'm taking 1) Lalor & 3) Jagga over Harley alone (especially where we are at as a club).
Save the big $$ trade/FA for when we're rising up the ladder, core group is in the 23-25 age range & we need that extra point of difference.
He would suit our future midfield perfectly but it's different to the Lynch and Dusty long term contracts. Even if he has a huge season, you're paying an obscene amount of money for someone with less runs on the board and we're not in a window to be doing that just yet. Players accepted Dusty as...
Mansell blitzed pre season last year as well- was apparently the standout.
Might not have a high ceiling but he's gonna push himself to the absolute limits - great person to have at a club
Could be the steal of the draft and that's saying something because so could Horton & Armstrong and a host of others.
Elite skills and composure and the thought of him, Gibcus and Balta all at their prime and injury free is tantalising!
That one concussion saw him slide from being spoken about...
Gee some harsh critics in here
He's completely different to any other key forward on our list, bashes and crashes and I'm sure in an afl system
For 3 years he will improve significantly. Was the 1x forward I wanted the most because he's got that mongrel. Him and Armstrong complement eachother...
Absolutely the right pick
Allen was the worry, didn't feel like we needed that type after Sammy & Josh. The only other consideration was Berry but think that's an easier type to pickup in both FA or with mid first rounders every year- not many with the ceiling of Taj get out of the top 10
Old enough to remember the same thing being said about Dusty in his draft year
...he's a man child, he's so much bigger than the other kids and he won't be able to push AFL players around like that....
Well I watched him push everyone around for 10+ years.
Lalor will lose the puppy fat after...
Put the gambling ad disclaimer under it and get a quote from OOh media- I'm sure the whole tigers board will contribute some $$$ for the best of trolls- im in!
There's a big difference between Carlton and us as well.
They absolutely need to land a superstar with Jagga, he's cost 2x first rounders, they've hardly hit the draft in past years & they are in the window needing instant improvement.
We don't need to walk away with the best player in the...
Put this down more to how our club handles the media. Since about 2017 we've had a clear direction to keep everything in house, communicate through our socials / email channels and only do bare minimum media requirements.
Look at the trade and draft period, we were the hardest to get an...
Yeh was noticeable all drafted are good kids, love a tackle, have some mongrel and high upside (but come with risk).
We've got so much flexibility moving forward now to draft just the really top rated mids/outside players now the spine is hopefully there.
Really liked that we only have...
I'll put my hand up.
Part of the crew that thought pick 6&20 for 2 was a good deal and we should do it to secure FOS.
Smillie & Armstrong for FOS? Absolutely no way!!!
Trust the process. Trust the club.
IN BLAIR WE TRUST!
Even just do it for this years draft.
Would you trade Langford (5) for Matt Whitlock (27) and Sims (1st pick R2)
Take Langford every day of the week in that scenario
You'd imagine North will naturally improve with more games for their young kids but realistically when you look at what they bought in to their club versus others around the mark I don't see how they're going to rise much higher than 15-16th.
Norf- FOS, Whitlock (unlikely to play), Darling...
When the pick trade went down, their supporters all would have had a look of shock and horror on their faces... like what Anthony Steven's looked like when he walked into the dunnies
