I seem to recall Bruns had done something in a previous incident and you know how elephants never forget. Lethal's response was over the top.
Jackson should not have been reported for squaring off with Ayres. Had Ayres been reported for his cheap shot, that would have ended the thing before...
Fixture out.
Curious as to why after a number of back to school matches, Old Geelong have decided in the last couple of years not to make the annual trips down the highway.
Earlier this year I was in the Northern Territory, where 2 uranium mining sites are heavily contaminated - Rum Jungle and Ranger. The former has been closed since the 1960s. Ranger closed a couple of years ago and Rio Tinto haven't got a clue how to clean it up.
That's the first issue. How on...
An NT team could be viable. And a higher number of Indigenous players than most clubs combined.
Sponsorship seems easy enough, thanks to the mining industry (Rio Tinto the obvious) and tourism operators (Journey Beyond/Outback Spirit) and the TIO.
Have heard that there will be a redevelopment...
Must admit...the power bill here at home, with a major contribution of rooftop solar, is in credit to the provider by about $50!
A lot of communities in regional Australia are developing micro grids - whereby rooftop solar on homes, combined with a small array - are being established as part of...
Agreed - but we already have the Easter Bye and the Kings Birthday weekend bye. You really only need 1 more bye for representative football and that's it.
Oh and even organise a representative match Kings Birthday weekend too.
April 5.
Nice early start to the season.
Thinking back to what it used to be like, you could still do the Premier Grand Final on the Friday but the previous Saturday, if you could get the grounds, the other senior and under 19s divisions could finish the previous Saturday.
Coburg as a club is struggling on the field in the VFL. There is the potential they could join the VAFA full-time if things don't turn around. They do have strong financials off it though.
Sandringham don't exactly make a lot of money out of hosting VAFA finals every year.
All about the bar isn't it.
The reality is Coburg is a member club of the VAFA where it is not a member club of the EDFL. That's the difference. The EDFL already stage finals at Keilor, Greenvale and Highgate (Craigieburn).
Also look at locations of teams in Division 1 and Division 2.
Let's...
I seem to recall umpiring finals at Old Essendon, St. Bernards, Cheltenham, Mordialloc...
I can see Division 1 and Division 2 grand finals being at Coburg next year given the geographic nature of both divisions.
Box Hill is being redeveloped so it's probably out. Maybe more games at Point...
I am sure there are things that will come up in the season review but one thing that needs to be nailed is getting finals venues sorted out much earlier than seems to be the case.
Use Coburg as the example. There seems to be an issue with the EDFL and the VAFA regarding it's use. With Coburg's...
Scotchies deserved the win the way they played yesterday. Felt like the Tonners cracked under the constant pressure being put on them.
As to Jascave's point vis-a-vis the crowd and public holiday footy, being a perfect day weather wise certainly helped get the crowd numbers up. By about...
Well done to all those appointed to grand finals in recent weeks. The aforementioned umpire directly above has retired as of this week.
And one from me. 450th game today down at Sandringham.
