Scoresby juniors folded a few years back and i think a soccer club has taken over Carrington Park now too.
Not sure the club as a whole chose Scoresby, but Scoresby got the right people in the right positions within that junior club.
Heard that a few months ago there had been a changeover or takeover of the committee and that the new committee were more aligned to Scoresby. There are a few ex Scoresby players involved in coaching juniors etc. Hadn't heard it was official.
But some very unhappy parents who aren't too...
A few clubs local to Boronia believe there had been a gentleman's agreement not to attack each other for many years but this off season Boronia went all out, not just with 19s but also senior players. A number of club captains, B&F winners and club stalwarts were contacted by the Boronia...
Agree that training would need to be done in cricket season anyway but starting it after Christmas would at least allow cricket clubs to feel like they have had their rooms and ground for sometime to themselves before football comes knocking.
But also the pettiness of cricket clubs is...
Ive got no idea whats going on there but its interesting. Isn't Franks brother the President at Nunawading? The whole thing feels a little bit strange. The post went up, then it went down, now its back up. Is the post about a football manager even needed?
Yeah just saw that. Heard from a stingrays man that they were hopeful he might go in the pre-season draft or get rookie listed but they didn't really think he would go in this draft so its a great result for the kid.
He was linked to Melbourne Next Gen Academy but they had told him they weren't...
Wasnt that the other brother Riak?
Deng is currently doing pre-season with the Northern Bullants. No idea why he would align him self with a Div 2 club that looks to be struggling a little, after playing this year in Prem Div.
They do have a leg to stand on but it seems common practice at the moment. If the player is already at your club you could block their transfer for sure. But it rarely seems to happen now. Maybe it rarely ever happened before.
Clubs are generally pretty pragmatic when it comes to these things...
I'm only gong by media reports a week or so ago that said the club and him had come to an agreement and he would be paid. I agree its strange that in football you can break a contract and still get paid.
This was on a channel 9 article "Jaidyn Stephenson is hanging up the boots after seven...
It is early but that particular group of mates that played together and won flags together are very tight. Many of the players didn't want to leave FTG but their mates were at Mitcham. They also have a great bond with their former coach.
Apparently Stephenson is playing for nothing in 2025 when...
Fairpark gun forward Jay Rankin has been poached by Doncaster East. Massive loss for Fairpark.
One of the most promising players I've seen in Div 3 for years. Coldy played Fairpark late in the year away and he was everywhere. Kicked 5 or 6 goals and took i reckon a dozen contested marks...
I reckon the cards have fallen FTGs way ironically. After being decimated by departures, there is not a huge expectation for season 2025 as we speak. Stephensons inclusion takes away any talk of relegation though, because they will be easily able to attract more players.
The boys he played with are all the Mitcham players. Might be a bit late this year, but i think the signing of Stephenson would have sent a shiver down the spine of some senior Mitcham people. They know whats coming.
Scoresby have recruited quite well for their entry into Div 3
Matthew Traynor - Rowville 2018 Senior B&f winner. Played mainly senior football until this year. Should dominate in Div 3.
Jordan Camilleri - Noble Park. Really strong reserves player broke through for some senior football this...
I think his choice of club wasn't great for the player he is. Very hard to break into that SB midfield.
But as a captain of a club, i think it was a poor decision. He wasn't trying out for AFL so i hate hearing this 'playing the best level football he can' rubbish. Its local footy. When you...
Big in for Silvan with Matteo D'Alfonso returning after a year with South Belgrave. They have also picked a handy young ruck/forward from Heathmont in Cam Blease.
