Battle was a very good (and important) player for us. Unfortunately, he chose to leave. I think those that are playing down his importance and quality need to take a breathe.
Let's just hope that we have success before he does.
He had a great pre-season this year and was looking really strong. Unfortunately he got injured and missed a lot of the start of the season which really set him back.
Great result! Now we have to use that pick wisely. It's Dalrymple's first draft with us, so excuse me for being a little pessimistic. Perhaps it's because I'm a little scarred from the last 12 years or so ;)
No way is he worth a second rounder. They didn't even play him in the second half of the season. I'd happily walk away if they insist on a second round pick.
Does anyone know what the status of Ollie Lord from Port is? From memory he signed an extension last year(?) but doesn’t seem to be getting regular games? He’s a 195cm key forward from the bayside area, who the saints were keen on a couple of years ago.
Disappointing to lose Josh, but players will come and go. Remember, we lost Plugger to Sydney and yet the club survived. Not only did we survive, but we went on to play in a grand final a few years later.
I’m more pissed off at the lack of transparency surrounding compensation picks. Like...
This off season will prove how single-minded and ruthless the club is in its desire to win a premiership. Trim the list around the edges and we’ll never break this cycle of mediocrity. It’s time to cut deep, take a few steps back and load up on elite young talent. For me, everyone including the...
I think the end of season list decisions will tell us a lot about where the club thinks we're at. If it's a major purge than I think we are in for a full re-build.
Arie has a very important pre-season ahead of him. I watched him closely during this pre-season and his lack of fitness was noticeable. He's still a terrible runner, so he needs to build a tank and find a yard of pace. A lethal left foot will only take you so far in the AFL.
We cannot match the swans outside run. On a positive, Pou & Clarke have very been good. Steele has done an exceptional job tagging Heeney. We need to send someone to Warner, although he is probably un-taggable if I'm being honest.
I'm not sure how much longer Ross is going to put up with Max King's pathetic efforts. People continue to make excuses for him but today's performance will go down as the the weakest individual performance of the year.
On a positive, I thought the skipper really stood up today, but outside of...
Henry is jogging around like it’s a suburban footy match. Not sure why they’ve put Caminiti in defence, it’s clear he cannot run. Sub him off and bring on Jones for some extra run.
