It's good to see we stuck with Jones in the starting 18. He's definitely going to be a player and I think the coaching staff have alot of faith in him it seems.
My interchange bench would go on the lines of..
Ward, Liberatore, Roughead (Capable forward more so than Minson). Sub- Wallis.
Sherman should have never been the sub. We recruited him to eject some pace (which we lacked again today), how could he make a real stamp on the game in a quarter and a bit.
We looked slow today. I think we need to take a chance at the selection table (for once) and bring some pace and spark into the group- Skinner, even if not ready will give us a contest in our forward fifty at least.
Thoughts?
I feel as though Barlow is an replacement for Everitt, they both could be extremely exciting if they just had more aggression towards the ball. If Barlow can find that, he could develop into a fairly good third tall rebounding backman, if we choose to play him there.
Skinner seems like the one that really excites.
And i guess i can see the logic in Hill, if we were going to develop him as a tall backman but reports are that we see him as a forward..
Josh Mellington seems keen to come to us and we have been reported as showing interest. http://www.bordermail.com.au/news/local/sport/football-australian-rules/mellington-hopes-dogs-bite-at-draft/2000900.aspx
I think Cordy will play 5-8 games next year, seems Eade is VERY keen to blood him! And i'm excited to see what he can do. Along with Jones, Wood, Wallis and Libber (i could name 4 more), we have a fine breed of bulldog coming through!
I think we expect Cordy to play a fair bit up forward in the coming years, as well as Roughead. But i do believe we are in need of a young KPD to take over from Lake.
Very excited to have him at the Dogs, he is exactly what we needed. Now we don't have to just rely on Cooney and Griffen for the spark and run. Good addiction, i say!
Completely agree, he'll be our back up, just in case we endure a few injuries like this year. But i would much rather get games into the younger guys.
Re: Round 1 2011 Team
I think we need to give them a go first up, other wise what was the point of trading for them. All three address a need, so why not give them a go and see what they can do. I agree with Reid though, i'm a massive fan, but he's fighting for a position with the like of...
