Paying fees, if calculated correctly, just covers your expenditure costs. Adding Senior Coaching and player payments to your first few years expenditure will see you making losses and will be difficult to recover from.
For a new club, you need to grow a bank balance before you think about...
Interesting that the 2 clubs who came into the league 2 years ago and decided to put seniors on the track first without growing through their juniors like Caroline Springs and Point Cook and even Newport are both 'supposedly' in the sh1t financially. Will be interesting to see what happens to...
Above quote sounds familiar
POSTED ON VAFA COLTS PAGE
Why not leave the 'Colts' separate from the other U19 comps and make it a 'flat' U19, no overs.
That way, the teams that have players coming out of U16s are not playing against 20 year olds. I reckon this is what the colts was this years...

With the possible & unfortunate demise of Lavo, what would happen to Bob the Builders dream of 3 Divisions. Will it continue with 8 teams in Dv 2 and 5 in Div 3 or will it change to 7 & 6, or, will he scrap the idea this year?
I believe it's all to do with money. They loose there good players to the likes of Sunbury who pay big $$$. What they need to realise is, if they join the same comp, unless they are prepared to also pay the big dollars, those players will still walk
I would say 2 reasons;
Not all venues have fencing that would stop people just 'walking in'
No one would turn up to half the games. Standard / Results would not warrant people paying
Then may be they should remove his name from the website which lists him as one of the coaches to remove any thoughts of conflict. With regards to Heights & St Albans ........ no need to say more. Would have to question the agenda and decision making of some people on the board in that case
Interesting, my understanding of the rules & regulations of the WRFL is that a Coach of a team could not be an Executive Board member of the WRFL, possible conflict !!!
Would it be a fair call to say that if you are still getting players down at round 5/6, then 'some' of these players aren't/can't get a game at the club they are with?
Based on that scenario, Senior clubs should only vote on matters affecting Seniors.
Who votes on matters affecting the whole league.
Do we then simply have a separate Senior League and a Junior league run by different boards, CEO's etc.
Why should junior only clubs not have voting rights. When I last looked, it was the WRFL not the WRSFL (Western Region Senior Football League).
Do you place the same thought on Senior only clubs (Coburg, Laverton etc) not having full voting rights?
I'm a bit confused. Why are you going to make it next year? Is it:
The players that came up this year
The youth comming thru, or
the fact that you are going to get some good footballers
All this and only loosing 3 players from your Senior list. Sounds to me you will have a surplus of players...
Not sure how this will even out the comp. You have a team like Glen Orden struggling for players (as per ad on WRFL website) & Sunshine Heights where the majority of its Under 18's (first time this year) have not played above C grade in their Junior footy, playing the likes of Hoppers, Spotty &...
From my understanding and from people I have spoken to at the club;-
1. Not sure whether 'smug' is the right word. Frustrated may be better as this has issue has now been on going for over 18 months and each time it is raised he is asked the same questions.
2. No nothing about him stepping...
I've been back over some of your posts, very anti Point Cook. Obviously have an issue.
In your conversations with the president, did he ever explain why, or did you ask him why. Did you try to encourage him to put the Seniors in the WRFL or even let the WRFL know they were going to the Ammos...
