Thought I might just put this in to see what people thought. From the website Superfooty just so you all know (Warning: Only Top 30 listed):
1. GWS
Jon Patton (Height: 197cm, Club: Eastern Ranges)
Everything you would want in a spearhead. Will be a monster.
2. GWS
Stephen Coniglio...
Thought I might give it a go:
1. Greater Western Sydney - J.Patton
2. Greater Western Sydney - S.Coniglio
3. Greater Western Sydney - D.Tyson
4. Greater Western Sydney - W.Hoskin-Elliott
5. Greater Western Sydney - M.Buntine
6. Port Adelaide Power - C.Wingard
7. Greater Western Sydney -...
Just to add to this, you have GWS taking 2 talls. They would now be seriously lacking in talls and be relying on drafting lesser quality talls later in the National and Rookie drafts. No chance of that happening.
Another mock that has GWS taking a ridiculous amount of mids. Really, most of them won't even play as they already have a good midfield. Apart from that though, good job.
I agree with what you're saying and I think you make a good point, but both Hill and Morabito have the ability to play inside and Fyfe, Barlow and Mundy are currently controlling the engine room. I think Pitt is more of a medium forward type player but he does have the ability to play an outside...
I really like some of your outsider picks, especially Buntine at pick 3 and Kerridge at pick 19. I'm not sure Kerridge at pick 19 will happen, but a really interesting read. Nice to see something different (even though I myself am guilty of going with the crowd a little!). Really good effort...
Nah, don't worry about it mate, it's alright. I don't really pay attention to the press conferences and stuff so if I am wrong about something and a club has said they will go in with a particular strategy etc. please feel free to tell me.
Yeh, Kavanagh at 15 would be a no-brainer as he is a gem, and could easily go Top 6. In a normal draft he would probably go a lot higher, but because of his past injuries and GWS going for talls, he could slide a bit. Greene is an interesting one I feel. Some people have him going as high as...
Ok, Geelong probably do need some more tall players, but most of the good talls are gone, and the quality is not so great at their picks. If I was Geelong, I would go for the two talented players, and then bank on picking up some good talls next draft where the depth will probably better in that...
I think North already have a player to replace Boomer in Keiran Harper. He is quick, can play inside and outside and has the ability to kick goals from nowhere.
Sorry, I mustn't have heard about that. And this is so everybody else knows, I might not have much time to update my draft as I have school exams coming up and I am stressing. :(
Essendon has their midfield well and truly covered. They have Melksham, Howlett, Colyer, Zaharakis and Heppell for the future and you throw in Adams on top of that and it looks like a pretty complete midfield. They really don't need another midfielder. They might go for Docherty but they already...
I think there is only a small chance Carlton will go for a tall defender in Talia at pick 22 when Tomlinson, Frost and Dobosz are available. Carlton really need a key forward, and they have a very strong defence.
You have GWS taking 7 midfielders and 2 talls. They already have a pretty good midfield and poor key position stocks, so I think you've got the balance wrong. Apart from that though, good job.
Well, I think because GWS are targetting talls, a midfielder will slide. Greene doesn't have great athletic quailities, so I think he might be the one to slide. I think the Bombers will go for Adams at pick 19 because he's got better athletic qualities and has much bigger upside I think.
You make some good points and perhaps I made too big a statement, but there are some things you've overlooked. Henderson may be a good player but he is almost certainly going to play as a CHB for the Blues, and has done in 2011. Waite is injury-prone and drawing towards the end, and anyway his...
Hi guys, I have changed my order and I have decided to profiles for the 2nd round. I have made quite a few changes and gone for a few outside picks so I hope you enjoy it!
I personally think that they will finish off their midfield with 3-4 of their top picks, and then target the best talls available. They will obviously pick up Patton and Longer very early but apart from that I think the rest of their picks in the Top 10 will be mids. After the Top 10, I think...
That's another good point you make, but I think Ellis would be a nice fit at Richmond because he can play off half back, but also with his attack on the ball he could probably rotate through the middle and perhaps even play on a wing with his kicking. Also, Hardwick loves players who love a...
I think that's a good point you make, I will keep that in mind. I think once Richmond have that genuine inside player in Greene to complement Martin and Cotchin they will have a very strong midfield.
I don't think Richmond would go for Grigg, as they already have a really good midfield and an...
Can do, it will just take me a little while to find out though. As for who Markworth will push out, I think it will be Charlie Dixon. Gold Coast really have an excellent line-up and I can't really see him pushing anyone else out, and I think Markworth is the better talent.
Collingwood's first...
Hi guys, this is my first attempt at a Phantom Draft so it may not be perfect but please comment and help me improve it. I have done detailed reports of every player in the first and second rounds but I am still adding profiles and it may take a little while. I have also included who I think...
Hi Chris25, great effort again this year, areally good read.
I just wanted to get your opinion on why Melbourne would go for Greene over Kavanagh at pick 12. I personally think that if Kavanagh made it to Melbourne's pick they would snap him up, but I was wondering what you thought about that.
Hi Knightmare, I was wondering whether you could give my a little bit more information on Shane Nelson. Really good inside player who could play outside and he has a really nice kick (as demonstrated by his near perfect kicking score in the Combine), he also has really good leg speed (as shown...
I don't think the Bulldogs will take McKenzie with their first pick, he's a good player but the Bulldogs already have a player like him in Christian Howard.
