Is Drury a must have? He'll make oodles of cash. McKercher to Graham is locked, then Clark to Drury is an option. Or should we be upgrading at this time of year?
His cash gen is shot. Most obvious trade out right now surely.
Is Powell an option? Didn't see North's game yesterday but do we think he can average 90+ and play midfield?
Yeah I think with Butters, Newcombe, Gawn, Grundy, Sheezel, Whitfield and Jackson I can back them in when they're playing North or West coast. Whitfield VC/C already locked in for the first two rounds. And with Gawn's records v the Dogs that could actually be a very good play.... 🤔
Geez some people will have a few rookies on field with guys like Marshall, Daicos, Bont, Dawson and English around. Butters is my most expensive player... And Captain. Whitfield VC.
What do you think about Baker training with the mids this season? Have always thought he would be a good fantasy and real life midfielder if played in there. Currently my F1 🙈😅
Rozee has the best bye and early draw. His form from round 9 or so shows he has five points upside imo.
Brayshaw and Rozee M1 & 2 feels extremely safe to start the year.
Who says no?
Melbourne trade 6 and 11 for 3 (apparently trying to get up the order)
North 2 and 3 for 1 and 11
Eagles 1 for 2 and 6
That's my tip anyway.
Might be part of a future pick trade- e.g. Gold Coast trade their future second to Melbourne for 41 on draft night, once their bids have happened? Otherwise it's an extremely odd move.
Surely they could have just traded 10 and 17 for a pick in front of the bid, then cobbled together 3rd rounders from their trades to match? Just given their first rounder next year away for hardly anything... Horrible trade.
Watched this bloke at the Gabba this year and he impressed me heaps. Exactly the sort of connecting, leading forward Melbourne need to solve their issues. Underrated.
That said he is an uncontracted, 28yo fringe player. Imo Melbourne's late second gets it done.
This seems right. It'd be a good play by Melbourne to demand the first rounder in a trade then move it on to get up to pick 1 or gold coast's pick. And it makes the other trades easy.
Grundy and ~25 for a future 1
~25 for Rataguleoa
~37 for Zerk
Think this guy is a bit underrated. Kicked 40+ goals last year. Those forward/ruck types are valuable. Could have a similar impact to someone like Finlayson at Port. I think the dees or GWS could do worse.
I think there's a good chance we'll get in a 3rd tall defender type this off season. It sounds like we've had interest in Himmelberg and Doedee this year and we want someone more aggressive and skilful than Gardiner or Lester in that position. Doedee, Nick Coffield from the Saints, a smokey...
It's strange Neser hasn't had more of a go. Would be comparable to Boland or Hazlewood as a bowler and was the shield's best player last season, plus he can average 30+ with the bat. Perfect for English conditions...
Cummins, Starc and Neser are our best quick options imo.
Warner is such a...
Is it worth bringing in Jackson over Keays, because Keays has the bye straight after? Currently got Keays, but gee it's dicey with only 16 currently for R14. Traded Ziebell, Sheez and De Goey to Ryan, Serong and Keays.
De Goey not only getting himself traded in and out of my team in record time with that hit, he's also potentially KO'd my pod Hewett in the first quarter! Was getting CBAs and looking great.
How is Cincotta's job security, blues fans? Is he out soon with Saad returning?
A red dot to Seamus Mitchell is likely. Then either Ginbey up to Stewart or another red dot to Cincotta. May just pass on him though unless we see Saad and Cincotta named in the same team.
Or even go early on...
Roberts, M. Johnson, Wardlaw, Wagner, Fahey, Cincotta, there'll be random rookies named this week guaranteed too. There's always rookies to downgrade to.
