Not bad by the Lions considering J Bannister among a number of outs and the Hoes are paying Carl Groth a bucket load. Hope he's saving for Warnie's hair replacement therapy.
Lions with J Bannister and Hoes without Box Hill's Will Murphy would have been a much different story.
Short memory FWIW.
The year PEGS got promotion to Premier C in 2000, Therry won the Premier B flag.
Unfortunately 2005-2012 the Lions collapsed a bit, but they've spent more years in Premier B than in any other Division. Proud club, deserving of a spot in the VAFA's top 30 at minimum.
Don't...
Write off Therry at your ow peril gents.
Speaking to some of the PEGS twos players, their senior team was 90% full yday.
PEGS twos dominant but scoreboard irrelevant. You'll see a much different (bolstered) Lions outfit Rd1.
Great work by clubs involved to pressure the league into the change. And great outcome for all. Don't think fans will mind the extra $5 to watch footy at VISY Park
I wonder what other grounds they had to pick from?
Casey and Meade too far away for both sides, Trevor Barker given to under 19 premier GF (St Kevins v St Bernards) on the Sunday.
Doesn't have the prestige of VFL or VFA grounds, does it? Although apparently the surface is tip-top knick.
Prelims at Trevor Barker on Sunday, so expect the GF to be Sunday, Sept 14.
Surely they wouldn't play the GF at Trevor Barker and give the winning prelim teams the advantage of playing there?
Others I thought of - Central Reserve, Highgate, St Bernards or Coburg City Oval?
You're right.
Vafa failed to note that on their website.

The last Champion team in VAFA was Uni Blacks in Division 1 2004.
The last team to win back-to-back Div 2 and Div 1 flags was Oakleigh (2006-07).
In 2008 they finished 3rd in Premier C, before losing the 2009 grand final.
They lasted 2010-2012 in Premier B, but finished second last in 2012...
The only people that were upset were the fans. Terrible game of footy, with the Bushrangers playing four blokes loose in defensive 50. 29 scoring shots to 6 is a smashing.
Let's say Therry doesn't lose a game in run home, which is unlikely but possible.
Let's use Prahran, Willy and Old Geelong, who are all brilliant at home and terrible away.
AWAY, Prahran has:
NOBS - lost
Old Mentonians - lost
Yarra Valley - lost
MHSOB - won
Therry - lost
Coming up, I'd say...
Anyone know how Williamstown's reverse draw was on Saturday night? Even Melbourne High have booked their annual ball booked this Saturday night in the hope they secure their 2nd (and possibly last) win for the season.
Depends on where the function is being held.
If it's being held in the Ivanhoe, Bulleen area then it makes sense to book in then.
Otherwise, might as well book your city functions when you play Melbourne High out there.
Nothing better than a club function following a massive win :)
Difference between very stable and pretty stable irrelevant. It's not the AFL where the class is equal across all sides.
Yes I agree unstable teams are affected.
As for OM, they beat the most unstable side in MHSOB. Beat Prahan who can't win away from home. Beat Bulleen who lack class. And...
More garbage.
Definitely believe the "unstable sides" are hurt by the number of players they have to play and the number of players who have played 6+ games.
But "Kudos to OMs"?? Give me a spell. Shows they've got no depth beyond 29 players, exampled by their poor reserves side.
Interesting...
