Does anyone else remember what the Adelaide Oval used to look like?? I remember sitting on the old concrete steps on the eastern side of the ground back when Adelaide used to host the traditional Australia Day Test Match. Wow have times changed! This image might be particularly interesting for...
Does anyone think an afternoon match after the ANZAC Day march would of been a better idea to try and attract some of those extra people already in the city?
I agree there but I think it's 2 early to say the novelties worn off after just 2 games. I do think the AFL was stupid to send a club from QLD (Brisbane) which doesn't have a big following compared to a club from the traditional Football southern states. I hope they send a big Victorian club...
I think there plenty of good enough SANFL grounds around Adelaide more than good enough to host pre season matches. It's good to spread them out a bit for the fans anyway. Even places like Victor Harbour, Mount Gambier or Port Lincoln could host a game a too. Just a thought!
Great video here of the new facilities in the new stand from the Sydney Swans website. Can't wait for the Footy!!

The sooner Memorial Drive's redeveloped, the sooner we'll be able to attract a decent Tennis (Professional) Tournament back to Adelaide! Even Hobart has a better tournament!!
It's such a pity they skimped on this, Memorial Drive's such a dive looking venue now. I really hope one day it's leveled and a decent multipurpose/Tennis venue's built there!
I doubt it. Westfield just underwent a redevelopment and there hasn't been any talk of further expansion. Besides Westfield Marion and Tea Tree Plaza would surely be redeveloped before any more's done at West Lakes in the foreseeable future...
Yes, the footbridge will be open temporarily for the Test Match but it won't be complete. Once the game's over, it'll be closed off again as a construction site and won't be finished until the beginning of the AFL Season in March 2014. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong?
I went to both the AC/DC and the Foo Fighters concerts at the Adelaide Oval and the ground was fine after both of them. You really won't know until after the concert and a lot will depend on the weather anyway??
One thing's for sure, the Adelaide Oval has some of the best ground staff in the...
Mate you can catch the Tram all the way from Glenelg to the Adelaide Train Station stop. Once you're there, get off, walk through to the new footbridge over the River Torrens and straight into the Oval!
Ohhh there's no doubt about it! It's hard to believe this has happened so quickly?? I mean the oval still pretty much looked like that top photo in 2007! It only feels like yesterday!
Here's some more photos from the Adelaide Football Club!

History in the making as the new turf finally starts to go down at the Adelaide Oval!!

I'm a SACA member and I don't know anyone that's said this??? Nothing but hearsay in my opinion. If there are some that think this, I'm sure their only a tiny minority and probably a few old timer/die hards? Just remember, if the majority of the SACA members didn't vote in favour, then there's a...
I believe the land is eventually going to be sold off for a massive housing development. The Crows will still maintain their training facility there and I think the oval may remain in some minor capacity but everything else will eventually be bulldozed. The entire area itself is owned by the...
