Anyone used their mobile membership to sit with a friend at the ground? Looks like I have to choose a seat to sit in. I just like to rock up and sit in GA, I don't want a reserved seat or mess around with the app to coordinate seating arrangements. Any ideas?
Literally 5 seconds before this, 2 players tried to pick it up and fumbled (Maynard being the second), I remember yelling at the TV "Just kick the f***ing thing off the ground!" Enter: Scott Pendlebury, making my dreams come true once again!
He makes it pretty clear it wasn't just "you're a headcase" or "you're f*cked in the head" (interviewers words), it must have been especially personal, like if you said it to someone in the pub you'd cop a fist in the mouth.
Match fixing is one thing, but acknowledging the fact that mass groups of players are using betting companies to bet on themselves is something the AFL would be keen to sweep under the rug.
They make a lot of money from these companies and if an entire club was punished due to players betting...
Question coz I haven't really heard it mentioned in the media...
Any chance Carlton does an independent internal review at some point? It's got to be coming, surely.
I'm not sure whether I like this analysis because it's so thorough, or just because I want to believe it so badly :straining:
Would really like it if Cox could establish himself as a solid forward/ruck. He's already proved that he can take a grab, and although his set shot is unorthodox, it...
Too many sports broadcasters get trampled at the horse races, it's time to ban this barbaric blood sport.
Horse racing: Is the party really worth Hamish McLachlan getting trampled by a horse?
2017 Second round pick would probably be wasted on some other injury prone 18 year old. At least this injury prone player has a few games under his belt.
For some reason our guys can never get enough space to use the pill, but our gameplan seems to hinge on us wanting to function within tight confines. Very confusing and frustrating.
Was watching the Hawthorn v Bulldogs game today. Apart from their shocking first quarter, which reminded me a lot...
One thing I noticed, which I thought was very telling, was during the 3rd quarter, St Kilda switched play up their defensive end. I was sitting in the pocket in our defensive end and noticed Brayden Maynard, when he saw the play switch he dropped his head like a petulant child, as if to say "oh...
A mate of mine spent some time with the group on a hospital visit pre season and spoke to a few of the guys and I remember him saying at the time that players he spoke to were consistently telling him Varcoe was training the house down and setting the pace for everyone else. I felt like that was...
For anyone wanting an official answer, at 9:24 you will find footage of the Colliers (who played in the 1920's & 30's) singing the team song.
And yes, of course it's "Cor Blimey", because that is actually a thing people say, as opposed to "go blighty" which means nothing.
Thanks for that, I tried myself and couldn't work out the "subs from:afl" part.
It'll ask you to put in your phone number, make sure you include a 00 and country code (+61 in Aus), so you number should look like 00614********.
Cheers
You know what's also interesting, is that I remember reading years ago in Tony Shaw's autobiography (A Shaw Thing) that they had a disaster of a pre-season camp in the years before the 1990 premiership.
Someone else might be able to shed a bit more light on this, but I think the underlying...
