Exactly right.
We're in a political game now, where Ed won't admit failure to his succession plan and implicate himself in bringing the Club to it's knees.
It's crazy to think he's standing there watching this, and not thinking the same as we are.
It's sad because I almost want to go 0-6, so...
I can't remain level headed anymore. I've supported Bucks through thick and thin, but I'm done.
We have no clear game plan or structure
I can't remember the last time I saw us kick to a lead in F50
Our forward line run into each others space and clog up our F50
Our skills are simply deplorable...
I actually think in hindsight this draft year will be very highly rated.
Potentially the evenness of the draft can be blinding - but I think there's a lot of stars in the making here.
Great pick up - we are very very lucky with this one.
He's going to be an out and out gun - and far from a project player.
Anyone who disagrees with this selection needs a loooong looooooooong look at themselves in the mirror.
I'm not going to argue the point with you. We simply have a different view on this.
My view
In modern day football, many top end draft picks come in and play straight away - that's my point.
I then supplied 10 players in a 2 year period that validates that.
Your view
First year players...
Not in this day and age - especially not the top end kids...
2015 Draft
Player / 1st season games
Weitering / 20
Schache / 17
Mills / 22
Oliver / 13 (due to injury)
Parish / 20
2016 Draft
Player / 1st season games
McGrath / 21
Tarranto / 14 (due to injury)
McCluggage / 18
Powell-Pepper / 22...
Hine already said he's ready to play straight away - and I agree.
Lachlan Whitfield played 19 games in his first year, McCluggage 18 - both similar build.
With the utmost respect, I don't have time to go back and match quotes to prove my point.
My point remains - Darcy Fogarty battled with a minor injury throughout the year, missed games and struggled with form.
That would worry me as a recruiter - with the rigours of AFL you need to manage that.
It’s ironic how people are up in arms about us selecting Stephenson – citing risk associated with his heart condition – which is relatively unknown.
Funnily enough, the same people wanted us to select Darcy Fogarty.
Quick reality check…
Stephenson played 20 games this year across TAC Cup (15...
Update from a mate of mine who's a journo in the know. (he asked me not to reveal his publication online)
Stephenson is our man unless Cerra available. Pies looking past Fogarty now.
I see it playing out like this:
Rayner
LDU / Cerra
Dow
LDU / Cerra / Fogarty
Cerra/ Brayshaw
Brayshaw / Stephenson / Fogarty
Few key summary points:
Freo tossing up who to take at 2 - with the thought Cerra may be there at 5, while LDU won"t be.
North will definitely take LDU if he's...
It's an exciting first 6... With Freo and NM's selections to shape it.
I get the feeling Fogarty and Stephenson will be the two we need to flip the coin on
(assuming it goes Rayner, LDU, Dow, Cerra, Brayshaw in no particular order)
If NM take Fogarty at 4, we may have Brayshaw and Stephenson...
Have we got the 'Welcome to Collingwood Darcy Fogarty' thread ready to go?
My predicted top 6
1. Rayner
2. LDU (Cerra)
3. Dow
4. Brayshaw
5. Cerra (LDU)
6. Fogarty
Freo want Cerra and LDU - and I think they will get both.
Whoever they select at 2, I think the other one will be there at 5...
I'm hearing Brander is touted as the clear best talent in the pool - but just had a stinker of a year with injury and form issues.
Naughton is definitely the best KPP on form - not sure about natural talent though.
It's going to be an intriguing draft night...
I don't think Freo will take Naughton - they'll take LDU at 2 (if Lions take Rayner), and may jump at Brayshaw if he's there at 5.
That means our options are:
1. Take Fogarty (if he slips past NM) or Naughton at 6 to help with our KPP stocks.
2...
I'd be happy with any of these players at 6: Cerra/Coffield/Balta/Stephenson (assuming LDU, Dow, Rayner are all gone)
Clavarino at 38 would be nice too.
Then grab Brown as FS
I'm liking the way Johannes Vermeer got to the line in his last two runs.
With a long open straight at Flemington, I expect him to be very prominent in the closing stages.
Agree to disagree
His legacy is as a premiership player that played 246 games and kicked 441 goals for the black and white verticals!
On top of that, he was a genuinely lovely guy that gave everything he had to us.
