This is laughable! The Ormond blokes having a crack at GE and their president are absolute Muppets. I met the president of GE when we played them this year and he is nothing but a good operator who is trying better his club, highly doubt he is motivated by stealing players... however, if the...
Not much chat around with only 4 teams left in the hunt....
Glen Eira and Hawthorn my tips for the weekend. Big dance appears like it could go either way!
Farewell Elsternwick, Parkside and Aquinas and welcome to Westbourne and Point Cook likely to join IMO.
No, I decided to stick to the Snakepit on Saturday and watch the boys finish the year with a win. No doubt a few sore heads around Canterbury this morning :).
Interesting result at Packer Park there Strobbler, makes for an interesting finals series.
Well now that the Cobbies are out of the finals contention, I might just make my way down to Packer Park this weekend so I can form my flag favourite opinion.
Hopefully the reception from Strobbler and Zero isn't too frosty...
The clearance list suggests that the Gryphons players have voted with their feet as the majority of their players have moved across (or still representing in the clubbies).
Still can't believe GE posters still bite every time someone makes reference to the Gryphons in their team name... At...
Gee it's Friday and no tips have been put in... The sting has well an truly gone out od D3. Outside of Cobbies and Powerhouse, everything else seems pretty set.
Seeing as there is only one game worth tipping on, I'll back the Cobbies to hold their spot against Powerhouse.
Had a couple of key fellas out on the weekend and have struggled with injuries at different stages of the year. Having said that I wouldn't suggest that we are the only club with those problems.
What are we going to do Hansie!!! Terrible loss on the weekend. Our beloved Cobbies are fighting to keep the season alive against Powerhouse this weekend.
UHS comfortably over Aquinas
Hoping the Cobbies can upset the Hawks
GE over Elsternwick
South Melbourne to bounce back against Parkside
Albert Part in an upset over La Trobe
Swinburne at home against Power House
PowerHouse over Albert Park
GE at home vs Cobbies :( - Will be closer than people expect
Hawthorn to beat Elsternwick - May be closer than people expect
La Trobe will punish Parkside
Souths to beat Aquinas
Uni High over Swinburne
In the case of a 12 team comp the 'fail-rate' is not too outrageous. An increase from dropping the bottom 20% performing teams (in a 10 team, 2 relegated comp) to dropping the bottom 25% (in a 12 team , 3 relegated comp). Makes for a strong D4 in 2017.
The Cobbies are back on the winners list! Great win at the snake-pit with the big Waaaalllllms back to his best :).
Good to see our D4 Grand final opponents Parkside get their first win of the year.... Don't think many would have tipped GE over the rampaging Hawks, especially at Rathmines.
Not much to chat about in the bye week. It couldn't come soon enough at the snakepit after a disastrous 5 weeks! I imagine a lot of clubs are relishing the week-off and hope to have a couple back this time next week.
Right-o Phantom Flogger, leave me out of this. I haven't said anything derogatory about your club or the merger, and the few times I referred to you as the Glen Eira Gryphons it was with tongue in cheek. Surely you're not that insecure about the merger that you can't take a little banter from...
I don't think that D4 will exist in 10 years. The yearly struggle for numbers (on and off field talent) particularly for clubs without juniors will see folds, reverting to clubbies and mergers become the flavour of the next decade. I'm not saying this in a negative manner, just I see in my...
He'll play this week :p;)
My Tips:
Aquinas at home
Cobbies to get back on the winners list
Wicks over the House
Albert park to beat a now competitive Parkside
Glen Eira comfortably over South Melbourne
Hawthorn to stamp their authority
I hope this is all genuine, Hummer has been a great contributor since joining the snake pit last season. Snorlax will be able to confirm this as a fellow Cobra enthusiast.
