Apparently there was once a Canterbury nth balwyn that played in the old escfa. However the relevance to the cfc cobras is lost as this club (also known as the cobras) merged with a club in bulleen. So now we have the manningham cobras...

You guys including banterbury and snorlax continuously mocked Glen Eira calling them gryphons without a clue of what happened. Sort out your own issues at Cant. For those of you who watched West Brunswick and St Leo's play last year, how do Glen Eira and Hawthorn stack up in terms of quality this year?

For those of you who watched West Brunswick and St Leo's play last year, how do Glen Eira and Hawthorn stack up in terms of quality this year?

Leos were the standout team for two years in the regular season IMO, and having played Hawthorn recently I'd put them on par with them, if not ahead. The size of the blokes in their team is pretty ridiculous.

Glen Eira a clear second, but I don't see them challenging Hawthorn in the GF. Mind you, would have said the same thing last year with St Leos/WB.

WB going great in D2 it looks like, which is a great achievement. I thought Leos might do better but there is a long way to go.

I'd say Leo's forward line was more dangerous last year, but would say Hawthorn have a better midfield - having first hand experience of trying to deal with it, their ruckman dominates the taps and their big bodies block and run well for each other. Gold is a beast.

I haven't said anything derogatory about your club or the merger, and the few times I referred to you as the Glen Eira Gryphons it was with tongue in cheek. Surely you're not that insecure about the merger that you can't take a little banter from some frustrated bridesmaids.

You make an incorrect reference to the cfc Cobras and then when you realise you are wrong, decide to go on the offensive.

At least if Canterbury merge with the U/14's, it will still be Canterbury. Same club since 1881. Who did the Glen Eira Saints start out as Phantom?? Doubt there's enough room to type in all the mergers you guys have gone through. Losing a few games in a row is far better than watching the identity of the club disappear ... and you have the audacity to tell Canterbury to 'sort out their issues'? Go 20 years without merging first and then you can lay some claims champ
