No more reading the illiterate rants on SFNL Div 3. No more reading VAFA D4, looking for some positive Chaddy news.

The whinging and moaning on this forum, make this the forum of choice. Indeed this is too funny. Apologies to those that may need therapy.

Looks like Canterbury 2’s failed to kick a goal Saturday. An injection of youngsters may be a good plan.
Less work for snorlax on the home side scoreboard if they don't kick goals. Oh but the oppositions flurry of goals will keep him busy.

Canterbury Nth Balwyn flogged again. Whats going on
May definitely need to merge with your under 14's.
Sorry Phantom but missing the correlation between Canterbury and North Balwyn? By the Canterbury bashing I'm taking it that you were offended at your recent visit to the club ... or you just bitter that Hawthorn will stop the Glen Eira Gryphons chance at sneaking a flag through the back door?

Very surprised to see Eltsernwick get up pretty comfortably over Canterbury - I'd be interested in anyone's thoughts who watched the game?

rest of the results looked as expected, UHS had a good chance against Latrobe, and Parkside seem to be putting up a good fight of late.

The loss of Hummerston hurt the Cobras. Elsternwick have a good bunch of young players who are getting up to speed with the comp. No wind advantage, for a change at Elsternwick. A shower or two made ball handling tricky at times. Otherwise a cracking game.

Hummerston an integral cog in the Cobra machine. Doesn't feel great to be back in the pack, much preferred the view from 4-0.

Couldn't agree more, Hummerston was very dangerous against us, its a shame they couldn't get the ball in his hands more often. D3 team of the year lock.

Bit of a love-in going on here, settle down you lot.

Falcons v Swinburne - One of those days you enjoy the fact you aren't out in the middle, very tough conditions for both sides as the runners and water carriers were delivering more towel wipes than fluids. All in all though Falcons seemed to be in control all game with Swinny only really challenging at the start of the 4th, which the Falcons locked down and contained to their credit.

Some observations;
  • Swinny need another tall badly as they lack height and besides their ruck man who took some great contested grabs, they struggled for a tall target which the Falcons exploited positioning their talls along the spine and shutting down most drives out of Swinny's defensive 50.
  • Falcons back line and on ball department very strong, forward line suddenly lacking firepower.
  • Albert Park's ground looks like a disaster site, poor blokes clearly been stiffed this year.

From an outsiders perspective at the snake pit, I can't imagine it being panic stations just yet. With some wins already chalked up as evidence they can compete with the best and plenty left in the season, anything could happen. No need to merge with our under 14's just yet.

And let's not take anything away from Elsternwick here, they played far, far better than their results would suggest. They have the best full-forward comp in the league, they adhere to their structures and game plan and play VAFA park remarkably well.

Agree with the board that this Hummerston chap is an alright kid.

I would hardly consider our dedicated scoreboard attendant an outsider.

Tips

Aquinas df Swinburne - 11 points
La Trobe df Canterbury - 31 points
Powerhouse df Elsternwick - 19 points
Glen Eira df South Melb - 29 points
Albert Park df Parkside - 47 points
Hawthorn df UHS - 65 points

Swinburne def Aquinas
La Trobe def Canterbury Nth Balwyn
Glen Eira def South Melbourne
Albert Park def Parkside
Hawthorn def UHSVU

A little birdy from Elsternwick told me that Astbury tore a hamstring against them. Any of the many Cobras on BigFooty want to let us know how bad? Hopefully back soon. Seems there are plenty of injuries at the Cobras- hopefully you get your full list on the park soon...

He'll play this week :p;)

My Tips:
Aquinas at home
Cobbies to get back on the winners list
Wicks over the House
Albert park to beat a now competitive Parkside
Glen Eira comfortably over South Melbourne
Hawthorn to stamp their authority
