I suppose GK were a secondary Nhill side in the end, you also had Netherby-Lorquon north of Nhill that played cricket until not that long ago, I believe all the cricket teams merged into West Wimmera.
They play in the Horsham comp now.
Thanks for watching the YouTube, I'll try and do a video...
Interesting that Warracknabeal has over 2k people, it's not like they are the smallest town in the Wimmera league. I could see why they don't want to merge
Don't really know the real reason but it seems the Apsley people sided with Borders after the ground was upgraded. Politics that hasn't really been expressed publicly.
Yeah there's not too many Borders players from Apsley, mostly juniors from what I'm aware of.
However Edenhope won the 14s...
Not quite, it's a new collar design similar to the previous O'Neills collar. The bottom part is red but the top of the collar is blue with a red trim. There's also a shoulder panel with this new ASICS template plus the 100 year logo like the Hawks
Would love to see the home design with the pale yellow outline around the logo and yellow waves. That has to be the starting point for what they were going for.
Jacob Eats as co-coach, key forward who played for SA Country this year also Lochie Eats who hasn't played much in recent years but played for the Murray South East in the SA carnival a few years back.
Good for KL to recruit players from the Tatiara rather than guys from Melbourne.
Good for KL, smart to recruit KNTFL players rather than guys from Melbourne or Adelaide. If they can bring in a few more they might be pretty good next year.
Far out Kingston are the big spenders so far, have any other clubs announced big signings yet?
Concerning for the Limestone Coast FL that they lose one of the best locals, they also have a real lack of SANFL talent
Mount Burr were Millicent Centrals but thanks! Now I have an extra video to make haha.
I'd like to see a jumper concept for a couple Millicent Mid SE clubs merging to create a second Millicent team for the LCFL.
As someone who enjoys travelling to different ground over the countryside, I'm curious to hear which grounds are your favourite? Preferably a club that you're not affiliated with.
It might be the old grandstand, the food or drink, the lack of wind, the surface etc which makes it a great ground...
The Victorian clubs (Portland and Hamilton) would do better in the LCFL than the Hampden which is a stronger level. It would actually be a better level for them to play at however it seems both clubs prefer to be in a VIC league.
The Hamilton Kangaroos might have to change their design if it...
Any predictions for the Grand Final? I'd love to see the Thunder win in their first season but the Rats have Tom Williamson, the best player in the league.
Assume Horsham Demons or Saints will win the rest of the grades!
Well here's my uninformed answers to a few.
Will Harrow Balmoral head off to the South West DFL?
Their seniors would be even more successful and it might be easier to get juniors out of Hamilton. Interesting club with Harrow being the Wimmera and Balmoral being the Western District. However a...
As an outsider to the Wimmera just following in the past year, the league appears to have been outdated for years.
Obviously way back in the day each Wimmera town had one side in the major league but it doesn't make sense, it's so hard for towns of 1-2k people like Nhill and Dimboola to...
You can add 2024 to the list, Mundulla win their 13th flag in the KNT era.
Very windy day in Bordertown, wasn't great footy to watch but Mundulla made more use of the wind than Kyby.
Yeah that's what intrigued me as well! It's hard to work it out from PlayHQ of course cos all of them played junior footy for other clubs. At least in the juniors, they go to high school in Mount Gambier or Heywood so they can drag some mates across to play for Darty. I did make a video on the...
Would be cool for North to win their first Hampden flag. The club is a merger of Grassmere and Bushfield but where was the Grassmere ground?
Maybe they just shared the oval until the clubs merged in 1985
For some reason they didn't upload the radio show otherwise I would link the interview. It was just a brief mention that a club might be interested in joining the SWDFL.
From an outsiders view, it seems like the league is growing a bit. Would love a local to comment but with the inclusion of...
Don't really love the perforated material but not the worst quality, the obvious issue is the delay in the arrival of stock. Was such a poor look not having sublimated gold AFL logos on the retails, love the Nike off field gear though!
Cheers! I'd say the MidSE is better than South West District, maybe it will improve now the junior system is more traditional.
Must have been tough for clubs to get players when some didn't have junior sides until this year, also heard on the radio that another club might be looking to join...
