The thing is results have been much better recently. Perhaps it’s just one of those days at the tail end of a tough season, where you run into a very good team playing on top form and you just have to take your medicine.
You know what, for a few reasons I haven’t had time to watch nearly as much footy this year, but that might have been a lucky break. I really do admire you Sainters who watch every minute of it year after year after year. You guys go above and beyond loyalty. I get frustrated as a casual fan on...
If we lose this, I am going to buy a ticket to Australia’s most remote airport. Upon landing I shall walk barefoot without food or water as far into the outback as I can go. I don’t want to be rescued or even found. Just remember this of me: a small piece of the red centre shall forever be...
A belated happy new year to all on the forum, all St Kilda supporters and indeed all Aussies. I hope 2024 is good to you and Saints. One of these years we shall reach the promised land of that elusive flag.
I’m only a few years in, but in that time we’ve made finals twice, which isn’t a bad record. Yes, we’ve had a few terrible seasons in there, but it could have been worse. I don’t think we’ve been wooden spooners in my time following the game.
:D
Saints will always be a different kettle of fish. What we call a lean spell is counted in eons by other clubs. They work by the calendar; we use geological eras. Hard yakka.
I can only give my own anecdotal experience, but I never had a problem with P66, and I thought he took some unwarranted abuse at times. Obviously, I don’t know the full history, but some things said to him were out of order, and I never saw him become abusive. He seemed a Marmite (Vegemite😛)...
A good competitive match that could have gone either way and was tense right to the end. Can’t ask for more than that as a neutral really. I enjoyed it right up to the final hooter because it was a close contest. Well done to Collingwood. After several near misses in recent years it gets the...
I’m having a few bottles of Guinness Original tonight. Three for £6 at Tesco. It’s a change from draught Guinness: less smooth but more flavour for me.
Apologies for my absence for much of the 2023 season, folks. It’s been a tough year, with lots going on.
Anyway, I hope you are all well. I will be watching the final as a neutral and don’t mind which team wins. I just hope it’s a cracking game. The only teams I would actively cheer against...
Australia win by 43 runs to go 2-0 up in the series. Well done, just a bit better once again, but at least England made another game of it. I think Stokes' dismissal saw the England team accept defeat right there.
Superb climax to the second test. England looked dead and buried last night, but Stokes has put the match back in play. I'm glad it's another competitive match, it looked like you guys were going to trounce us.
Much closer than it should have been, but let's take the four points and get out of Dodge. It could be a vital four points in terms of a finals place. Relieved to come through it.
Well done on winning the first Ashes test. I caught the final couple of hours, and it was tense. It could have gone either way at the end; Usman Khawaja's batting was the difference overall. A really good test match, the best Ashes series are the competitive ones, so I hope it continues like...
