The bit I'm surprised isn't compared more is Baker and Smith - surely there is a big gap between them, and there likely will be, but all the narrative at the moment is crazy
It happens every year though, the only difference is we might have thought there was less chance of dilution this year due to the (lack of) quality of free agents.
Aren't we all happy the action has started? 😅
Nah, that would be then set up for 9 + F1 with something strong like Richmond's F2 and other swaps.
Bolton being in contract pushes up the asking price, but we should be holding our ground because we know our picks are desirable.
The point values are still whacky, but 13 for 36, maybe with another shuffle.
13 as the centrepiece for Baker still makes no sense, especially for West Coast's position.
In isolation I think he's a great pick up for them as he'll be a leader, but that price is terrible.
We'll just have to wait...
Agreed, it's actually been fairly breathtaking how quickly people have turned against Cox, I personally think he's quite pivotal to our best defence when he's fit.
Add to that he's a decent option to swing forward and that's a pretty good weapon to have.
Why has trade value got anything to do whether it's crap reporting or not?
It literally says it's rating players for their performances over the home and away season, excluding any with less than 5 games, i.e. rating based on this year only.
It's not talking about value, just how they went this...
To be fair, asking him to cancel out Briggs who is AFL experienced and rather decent is asking for a bit of a miracle.
We want Reidy to compete and not get pantsed, with the key benefit feeding up Jackson more up forward.
But agreed would love to see Jackson hit some form.
I don't disagree with a lot of that, I'd be wanting the team to ignore the outs and focus on what they can do.
The reality is the only team we've beaten away this year that isn't in the bottom 6 right now is Sydney by 1 point.
Clearly they haven't had the greatest run since then, and they had...
The pile on towards Darcy is pretty next level, and I think a lot of is driven by the media narrative (cue the high salary, over investment in rucks, etc.).
Darcy can be a weapon for us, and a point of difference with Jackson.
It's pretty clear we won't see his best this year, and I hope he's...
I also want us to turn it around and show the previous form we had, it is quite the ask all things considered though.
At the end of the day I'm quite ok if it's Carlton that screws up and gets us in there though.
Was gonna say the same, the unknown and mystery around a player can be more tempting than reality - just look at Brodie.
Undoubtedly the selectors have got it wrong sometimes but that's the reality when you make decisions - you don't get them all right.
Would love to see Reidy given a go, even...
Personally I disagree, I thought it should have been called.
But I don't see it much differently to the one Pies avoided against North Melbourne, so swings and roundabouts.
To be fair you made a few out there propositions and then didn't provide any backing for them.
Would love to see why you think our forward pressure is elite as others asked.
Lukosius certainly has talent, but what makes you think it's all coaching that means he hasn't come on?
