Shit!.... I'm feeling really generous today and I just think we should help the bombers out. After all they have given us Solly, Bradley and Johnson over the years.
While it hurts to say this, why don't you have Peake and Murphy for your next premiership tilt, and all we will ask for in return...
I don't think there is any Freo supporter out there that ever wants Pav to be traded, no matter how many picks. Unless he decided himself to leave, I would never want the club selling him off. He could be the first 300 gamer for Freo and there would no no better man to acheive that feat.
Well I guess that will have to be his legacy. Should Sydney trade Goodes now? and should Essendon have traded Lloyd a few years ago? Cox and Glass at West Coast? Matthew Richardson at Richmond before he was injured? Teams just don't trade club legends.
Pav is our only ever club legend though, and is not up for trade unless he wants to go. Who knows if his move back to the forward line ext prolongs his career. I'm hoping he's around for a while yet. :thumbsu:
Tarrant on the other hand, the club would be up to trading. But if the price is not...
There is no way we will need to delist him! Players with his determination don't come around very often, other clubs would be stupid not to bid for him
Yeah the only reason he didn't play the last few games was because he pulled up sore in the lead up to selection. Let's hope we can get a suitable trade.
I don't know why Sydney would want a washed up ruckmen like Seabs. Don't they already have one of the best in Jolly, with youngsters like White coming through??
Hope he does get picked up by the eagles early at pick 7, so the other clubs don't waste their time...sounds like his in love with the club (eagles).
Looks exciting though and anyone would seriously have to look at him from the middle of the first to the second round.
How many Jetta's will...
Kepler's was a 1 year too. I also read that Ruffles and Soloman signed on too. I am a bit surprised we jumped at the chance to sign Soloman for 1 year TBH, I think it was time for him to retire. Source: AFL Website
Even if this is the case, he would be reasonably good value assisting in the coaches box if forced to retire IMO. Just give him 2 years or find a way to keep him happy.
Re: Contract , delisting & draft news & discussion.
Well if the Saints are looking for speed lets get what ever we can for him, hopefully the Saints can stop him running sideways. I'm not even worried if we get nearly nothing for him, he made me cringe watching him later in the season. :o
Re: Contract , delisting & draft news & discussion.
Fair point :thumbsu: I personally would take anything for him, he will not be missed as 1st year players have already surpassed him.
Re: Contract , delisting & draft news & discussion.
I just can't understand what the Saints would want with a hack errr....player like Peake, when they have Montagna, Hayes, and Dal Santo running through the midfield??
Re: Contract , delisting & draft news & discussion.
Yeah along with Schammer.
Looking at the these players with only 1 game to go, are we now starting see a clearer picture of the clubs views on these players? My guess and hope is this:
2009
Peake Delist/Trade
Drum Re-sign 2 years...
Drum needs to play for the rest of the season if possible. 15 disposals and 6 marks is not a bad game back from 18 rounds out of the team.
Your right there shouldn't be any outs, but I would chose any of Peake, Van Berlo and that's all I can think of.
Re: Contract , delisting & draft news & discussion.
Surely Soloman has to be delisted before Foster? I reckon we will win at least 2 more games too, so no priority pick. Melbourne will however, which means our first pick will be at the earliest pick 3.
I know but I guess it was a hopeful thing. It was just so important him being one of the few young KPP's on our list, he had it all in front of him but he f*cked it. I really hate Chris Connolly now...
Looking at those stats it seems we may have to just give up on Drum. I was hoping that something would change at some point this year but he appears to not have his head right....most disappointing thing about this year for mine. :(
Hase has been great all year which affords him some latitude IMO, Des on the other hand was great today but how many games has he played in the last 2 seasons? It's incompariable don't you think?
I agree to an extent, but we can afford a player of Hase's calibre for another 2 years IMO.
Solly on the other hand is a real worry, he is 1 hit away from missing 10 weeks through suspension, can we afford that sort illdiscipline even for 1 year? Tried to snipe someone agin today but...
Agree with you on Dodd had a good game today IMO. Loose on Aker but I think that was the wrong match up for him and helped in other areas defensively.
Disagree on Bradley, did a couple of good things but is generally a liability i.e. he's weak, slow, and has sh*t disposal to boot. Delist...
