Froggy can. That’s where he started.

In terms of trades, everyone will have an opinion, with some being hard to read. This will probably be one because it's hard to write also. Bailey. How much upside has he got left? I'm concerned that he has stalled with his progress. Has he maximised his potential? Sure he has some great...

Essendon are too difficult to negotiate with. They would ask way too much for him. Besides that, I doubt if he would be available.

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management discussion

Would Jack Lukosius be worth considering? He been encourage to look around by Gold Coast. High draft pick in his year, 24 years old, 195 cm, genuine swing man that Brisbane doesn’t really have, and good recent history of accurate goal kicking. Although he is from S.A., I bet he owns a house in...

If Petracca is gettable, what would a deal cost? I assume two first round picks plus change at least. Or a first round, a future first round, and a player. Its hard to see how it could be achievable, but is worth pursuing if he has any interest in Brisbane. It appears he genuinely wants out, but...

Kai Lohmann has been great in most games this year. By far the most improved in the team. I was at Marvel on Sunday and was impressed with his pressure, and contested possession work. I think he still think he has another gear or two to go in the next couple of season. Potentially a future elite...

Yeah he is. BUT, I just found out he is 3 week away with a hamstring.

Unofficial Preview Changes/discussion Round 20, Pineapple Grapple.

I think it’s a certainty that the Suns will play Casboult to exploit the lack of height of the Brisbane defence. I can see this being a bit of a shoot out. Brisbane still have the capability in their forward line to kick a big score against on ordinary Suns defence.

I agree. He’s got the size and has played defensive roles on mids in the past. Just needs to utilise his height to play a bit taller. He could be a direct swap in position for Wilmot, who would then play wing.

I haven't written of the Lions just yet for this year. Hoping for a big second half of the season. Just looking forward to next year with all the injured players back. I was surprised who I couldn't find room for. Starcevich Payne Doedee Zorko Andrews Coleman McCluggage W. Ashcroft...

Mid season draft is always hit or miss. These three look ok and worth a chance. McLachlan could get a run in the misfiring forward line this year. I’m surprised they didn’t use their 4th pick for either Hately or Casey Voss. Both more than good insurance. Plenty of quality mid sizes coming...

As I recall, Ainsworth was hoping to be picked up by the Lions during his draft year.

Totally agree. His suspension was absolutely warranted. The thought is inconsiderate at this time, but if the club can offer an opportunity for recovery and redemption, as well as ongoing public awareness of the issues, he could assist with a short term rebuild for the second half of the year...

    Replacing Kiddy for 2024

Kiddy out. Casey Voss in via the Mid Season Draft on a 6 month contract with a performance based option for an extension. Could be a nice feel good story the club needs.

The injuries have certainly challenged the Premiership window Brisbane was in. Difficult times require difficult decisions. Is the club brave enough and mercenary enough to consider Tarryn Thomas in the Mid Season Draft on a 6 month contract to replace Linc. He is free to play after 22nd July...

Review Round 7, 2024 - GWS vs. Brisbane Lions

Give me a break. Playing in the mud? 30 years ago every game was played in the mud. I think they are unfit and not committed. A 175cm first gamer ran circles around them tonight.

Review Round 7, 2024 - GWS vs. Brisbane Lions

Well, wasn't that pathetic. Arrogant, lazy, no respect for their team mates, members and fans. No respect especially the forwards. The forward delivery is what you would see at junior suburban levels. Plugger or Ablett Snr would struggle to get a goal in that forward line with such rubbish...

    Preview Round 5 - Melbourne Demons v Brisbane Lions (Thursday, 11 April 2024 @ 7:30pm)

Big chance on Thursday. Need a 4 quarter effort. No drop off this week. Dunkley tags Petracca, Berry (playing for his caree either at Brisbane or elsewhere) negates Oliver, and Lachie goes head to head with Viney. Joe goes for a big speccie early and gets the knee right into May, and Charlie get...

    Preview Round 1 - Dockers v Lions

That's why Cornes is on the telly and not in a coach's box. Too much being said about Kiddy. Sadly he is gone for the year, and everyone has to move on. McKenna probably comes back, so there's a decent replacement from last week's team. Kiddy's foot skills might be missing, but as the season...

Teams 2024 Rate My Pre-Season Team

Any thoughts on my team. So many changes over the last week or so. Probably more changes to go.

    First 23 in 2024

Its certainly looking like a strong team, although as we know, we wont see this team until Doedee and Ashcroft return in the second half of the year. I would like to see players rested a bit more this coming year, like Geelong did at their peak. Zorko, McCarthy, Berry, and even Rayner and...

    Looking ahead to 2024

Certainly a tease. Numbers can look easy at times. If he could straighten up his attitude and endurance, find the ball 2 more times per quarter, he’d be a 25 possession mid. If only this game was so easy!

    Looking ahead to 2024

I agree that Cam probably needs to work on his stamina which should improve his consistency. I think he’s always going to be high on list of favourite players of most Lions supporters, but he also can add some frustration. He was always compared to Petracca when he stated his career. For good...

    Looking ahead to 2024

Doedee is a lock for the second half of the year. The pre-season games will indicate who is ready. I'm not that sure that 3x 200cm+ forwards will work. I like the idea of either Morris or Lloyd as the 3rd forward. Both seem to be natural footballers, not just athletes. If the pre-season...

    Looking ahead to 2024

I agree. Raise the list to at least 50, even stretch it to 54. 46 players need for the 1st and 2nds. Most clubs have at least half a dozen players on the injury list at any given time of the year.

    Looking ahead to 2024

I agree with your highlighted players being under a bit of pressure. I think you can add to that list, Starcevich, Berry, McCarthy, and even Bailey and Rayner. The last three mentioned just need a little more consistency. Their best is great, their average games can be very average. The team is...

    Looking ahead to 2024

The seniors look about right. Strong list again as long as they avoid injury. Slight positional changes I’d make would be Neale in the centre, and Ashcroft to play more the roaming ruck/rover role. Doedee back pocket, McKenna HBF, and Wilmot on a wing. Berry on the starting bench. He needs a big...

I also like the look of Morris. Good body work, has a bit of grunt about him, and knows were the ball drop is. Seems to definitely have footy I.Q. I like the look of Lloyd too. Same, same, but different. Knows how to kick a goal. SorT of player that will sneak up on you in a game, and before you...

List Mgmt. 2024 Father Son watch MKIII. Operation Ashcroft jnr. Featuring various academy boys.

We are talking about two 18 year old kids who have been Lions for 24 hours. They won’t win games off their own boot next year. They will learn their craft and what role to play over the next year or two in the 2s. We don’t need them to have blinding speed for separation, or to stand on opponents...

I don’t think we have to use it for a Cat. B selection, could be used as a rookie pick or save it for the mid season draft.
