I think these guys are both set because there's only one thing they can't do whereas some of our guys can't kick for goal or tackle. So the VFL coaches have some work to do. If McLachlan wants to get a game in the seniors he will have to work on being less accurate in front of goal, and Craven will have to learn how to stop fully committing to tackles.
Commit to the game plan or get out!
Whoops. Still a good game though. That wasn’t their AFL reserves team it was in the reserves competition
I thought Ryan showed a bit of promise last year but he was just so far off the pace on Sunday he doesn't seem to have come on at all. I know he's had an interrupted prep but still...Mid season draft is always hit or miss. These three look ok and worth a chance. McLachlan could get a run in the misfiring forward line this year.
I’m surprised they didn’t use their 4th pick for either Hately or Casey Voss. Both more than good insurance.
Plenty of quality mid sizes coming through with Levi and Marshall next year and Annable and Geesu the following year.
I think Lyons, Madden, Prior, Carter and Joyce need to be moved on. Question mark still on Berry’s future.
Talls are needed. Ryan looked worse than ordinary last week. Joe and Oscar won’t be there forever.
Hopefully they can poach a couple of early to mid twenties talls in the next few years.
Was Ryan signed for 2 or 3 years; doesn’t seem conclusive. Hoping it wasn’t 3.I thought Ryan showed a bit of promise last year but he was just so far off the pace on Sunday he doesn't seem to have come on at all. I know he's had an interrupted prep but still...
McLachlan at least seems to have a lot more toe.
3.Was Ryan signed for 2 or 3 years; doesn’t seem conclusive. Hoping it wasn’t 3.
Oh dear.
I think Lyons, Lane, Prior, Madden and Joyce are all gone at minimum. Michael must be on the borderline. The profile of our selections indicates we may have a longer term view of their inclusion on the list. The squeeze for places come end of year will be well and truly squeezeee.
Ouch; can he be demoted to the rookie list or once you’re on the main list you can only be downgraded once you come out of contract and are re-contracted like Froggy Lester?
Yes.Ouch; can he be demoted to the rookie list
Nope.or once you’re on the main list you can only be downgraded once you come out of contract and are re-contracted like Froggy Lester?
Well let's not jump the gun on him too soon but not looking flash right now.Ouch; can he be demoted to the rookie list or once you’re on the main list you can only be downgraded once you come out of contract and are re-contracted like Froggy Lester?
Brisbane snuck in on us LOL
Godamnit Brisbane
There you go..someone said a few days ago, imagine if we lose out on a player we want to Brisbane all for scoring an extra goal v west coast to push us just above them on %. Luke Beecken to Brisbane who we have been keen on..fcu kk
So there went our player
Incipid club once again shoots itself in the foot…
“Yah, we smashed those west coast witches hats”.. and stuffed our midseason draft position losing out on a player we wanted in the process.
What an achievement.
The issue is more when they depart in the middle of a season rather than at the end of a season.Yep, the whining about losing players from the lower levels in nonsensical, what do they want... to ban the players from trying to progress up the levels. LOL!
I’m sure if the Crows really wanted Beeken they’d have taken him with there first pick unless they were absolutely certain that their first pick, Murray, wouldn’t have slipped to their second pick but given they passed on that pick it could be a long bow to suggest they’d have taken Beeken anyway.Having a read of the Crows MSD tread.
And then the arguing about tanking for the MSD starts and whether Beecken was their guy at their second pick.
That’s a lot of money if I must say so, exclusive vision live from him and his agent as we speak:Mitch Cleary on Talking Footy said the Hugh McCluggage re-signing has “taken a turn” for the positive. He said we’re re-signing him on a 7 year x $1M per season deal.
Adelaide (the actual club) posted a video on their site interviewing their recruiting manager, about the MSD. They hoped to take two players in the MSD, weren't going to take 3. But we were only going to pick players from their MSD board (supposedly had 10 players on it).I’m sure if the Crows really wanted Beeken they’d have taken him with there first pick unless they were absolutely certain that their first pick, Murray, wouldn’t have slipped to their second pick but given they passed on that pick it could be a long bow to suggest they’d have taken Beeken anyway.
The seven years is what raised my eyebrows not necessarily the money which I still think is high for what his output is which I guess needs to be tempered by what other clubs would have offered him to get him out of the Lions. That’s a lot of money if I must say so, exclusive vision live from him and his agent as we speak:
You assume Dev asks to go home as well. Not had the year he wanted getting injured while Ashcroft out.I think Lyons, Lane, Prior, Madden and Joyce are all gone at minimum. Michael must be on the borderline.
