So your user names is definitely referring to something with a significant percentage of alcohol right?

As I always say, it’s 6am somewhere

One got removed for repeated abusive and aggressive PMs to posters on this board.

The other got removed for posting a similar set of posts on the board itself.

I appreciate everyone's fond memory of people, but if you want to lament "good posters" that you miss that had their board privileges removed, make sure you're willing to accept their repeated destructive and nasty behaviour that got them removed in the first place too.
I don't do emojis and gifs which is why I am highly under appreciated and misunderstood , amusingly so.

But some of the responses on here are weirdly reactionary none the less.

Not referring to your good self in any way however ( no emoji required)

Dylan was always going on about us being short of a premiership team and unfortunately he will be proven correct.

Raynor for Max King. Steal of the century.

Hypothetically, Cameron was to leave at the end of the year. What does everyone have his value at with 1 year left on his contract? Turns 30 in a month and his best is most probably behind him

Pick 10-15? Or would that be unders?

His value is higher than any team would give for him. Both onfield and commercially.

I’d prefer to hold him to his deal. There is only upside for us in doing that. No downside.

He's a proven champ when on song and I'm not giving up hope on him getting to near his best again.

I feel uncomfortable posting this because I love Charlie, but there is no way you let him out of his deal.

He is contracted until the end of next year and we are in our window next year for a flag. He is 30 this year, 31 next year. He has to play well next year for the best possible deal he can get, $$ and years matter. His post 2025 deal with likely be his last or at least his last substantive deal. There is also a chance given his age that if a team can't get him this year the interest in him wanes substantially.

Worst case scenario we have him play next year for us in a contract year while we are in our flag window and then he goes to another team in 2026. Not the worst outcome going around.

My guess is he just wants to drum up the $$ for his next deal, fair enough.

I think that's all fair enough.

I haven't written of the Lions just yet for this year. Hoping for a big second half of the season.

Just looking forward to next year with all the injured players back.
I was surprised who I couldn't find room for.

Starcevich Payne Doedee
Zorko Andrews Coleman
McCluggage W. Ashcroft Wilmot
Rayner Daniher Hipwood
Cameron Morris Lohmann
McInerney Dunkley Neale

L. Ashcroft Bailey Ah Chee Lester Fletcher

Couldn't find room for McKenna, Reville, Answerth, Brain, Sharp, McCarthy, Gardiner, Robertson, Tunstill, Berry, McLachlan, and a few more untried young developing blokes in my best starting 23 for 2025. Of course some will get games in 2025.

Add to this the possibility of adding an established trade as they seem to do each year.

Depth is a great thing, but is it time for a bit of a cleanout?

King for Rayner ... that way even if Cam does come good it won't matter! 😁
Rayner just appears to be in cruise mode…. Needs to be challenged and have the fire with in him lit.

Needs to get midfield fit to rip the games apart. Has Dusty like traits if he can reached his potential.

So far a waisted talent, with so much potential awaiting.

Pretty rare for players to improve much once they hit 25 (which Rayner turns this year). He is what he is now. 1 goal 14 disposal a game player. Effectively a role player.

Bailey is in the same boat. He's a known quality now. A 17 disposal goal and a half a game player. He's probably more of a starting forward player than a role player but.

He won't get there with us. We sort of mismanaged him from the outset without a clear role defined for him as well as never ever dropping him to 2s. If he goes to another club and gets the riot act read to him, it might unlock what you're saying.

Obviously a lot of water to go under the bridge here but, 2031:
Anrews (34)
Dunkley (34)
Ah Chee (33)
McCluggage (33)
Berry (33)
Hipwood (33)
Payne (31)
Coleman (31)
Starcevich (31)
Answerth (31)
Bailey (31 - though maybe traded)
Rayner (31 - though maybe traded)
Reville (30)
Robertson (29 - though probably traded)
Lohmann (28)
Smith (28)
Sharp (28)
WAshcroft (27)
Wilmott (27)
Fletcher (27)
Brain (27)
Tunstill (27 but probably delisted / traded)
Morris (26)
McLachlan (26)
LAshcroft (25)
Marshall (25)
Gallop (25)
GIlder (25)
Annable (24)

Gone definitely: Neale, Zorko, McKenna, McCarthy, Cameron, Daniher, Lester, McInerney, Gardner, Doedee (33 but is already likely shot), Lyons

Like you look at that and depending on trades / players coming on as expected, etc - well we could still be right up there come 2031.
or a listed player, in contract, asks for a trade and the Lions do the trade leaving a spot, e.g. Dev or Rayner.

unfortunately us Brisbane supporters have been saying that every week, every year since he arrived.

If what I hear is true, it was Charlie's phone attached to his iCloud account and being seen real time back in Australia.

Cam Rayner's relationship was the one that didn't survive the revelations from trip.

A players all-round performance is both mental and physical.

The Daniel Rich issue in leaving the club was an entirely different matter.

Would you do Rayner for King? I'm sure the Saints wouldn't but an interesting question.
This is like asking if I'd trade a ham sandwich for a steak dinner. I like Rayner but King is a better player now and will become even better in future. We'd need to give up more value in a trade.

I’d welcome him at the Hawks. Unsure on his trade value though.

Rayner would fit in with our age demographic. I feel the young energy here may inspire him to reach for the stars.

* I doubt the Lions would willingly trade him either.

I'm hoping our days of recycling Hawks players is over.

Deal done, who do we get Jai Newcombe or Will Day for Cam Rayner?
