Because the game was a Carlton home match so all the Carlton corporate hospitality (Presidents dinner etc) were fed up and had gone home or had gone back into the room to the bar.

A few years ago someone asked him this question and he said he liked wearing the long sleeve because he thought his arms were a bit like chicken wings so he keeps them covered up. I must admit, he does look funny when he wears the short sleeve.

The roof is closed for all wet weather matches and all night matches. Night matches to make it comfortable for the crowd. The AFL get money to have it on TV but also want bums on seats so they want people to come along if its cold or miserable.
