    Player Sposorships

Ha, I'm glad someone else noticed this. I was looking at the player sponsorship page the other day and noticed the same thing. I couldn't believe that they had Ryan Lonie up so high. Granted the levels would have been decided at the start of the season but he's still ahead of Dane Swan who...

    Collingwood Membership-Disgrace

I started the year with no medallions, just a note in the mail each week to use that week to get in the social club. Then I recieved in two separate letters 2 different medallions. Both are different in quality as well. One is hand engraved on the back with not much protective enamel on the...

Hall of Fame Members - Gavin Brown & Des Tuddenham

Still is my fave, haven't been able to add another number to the jumper since he retired.

    Rowdy

As far as i'm concerned today is official Gavin Brown Day! I'm so happy for him. I have always respected how he played and presented himself. I do miss watching him play. Has anyone seen the tribute video on the Collingwood website from the induction. Its great, reminds you what the good...

The biggest game of the year....Outside of the Grand Final

I would love for the Pies to be responsible for handing Carlton their largest losing margin ever. On a side note, is the farewell for Bucks, Licca and Jimmy really happening before the game? Why is it being done at an away match?

    Family Day Concerns

Like the two previous posts I don't bother with the family day's anymore either. Too many people being too pushy to get an autograph. Back in the day it was still busy but the players were less hounded. You'd often find a bunch of them standing around doing they're thing. They'd have time...

    1990 Highlights

BEST. DAY. EVER!!!! I was 8 and still remember every part of that day. I was distraught when that ferral Daniher knocked out Gavin Brown but was so happy when he made it back out on the field. I still miss Darren. Jimmy Clement marked the ball in the exact same spot during a game this year...

How long will the Telstra Dome be the Telstra Dome?

Hopefully another telecommunications company takes it over then it can forever continue to be called PhoneDome!

    Brown to lead VFL Magpies

This is the best news! So excited! I've decided now that VFL is the new AFL!! Good Luck Gav! May many premierships come your way.

    Best Team Combined Since 1990

The centreline is brilliant. Do not change it. I just count myself lucky that i got to see all those brilliant men play so many times. To those that missed seeing Pants play (anyone born in 1992 onwards), you have missed out on seeing someone truly great.

We shouldnt be playing at the Dome this week

I get bored with the MCG week in week out, i'm looking forward to the game at the Dome.

    AFL vs. NRL

The good thing about NRL is that their administration sometimes listens to the fans. After the Superleague fiasco they pay more attention to the fans issues these days. At the start of the year they brought in a new rule that did not go down well with players, coaches, commentators fans etc...

Is Michael Voss respected as a Commentator, potential Coach or a Person?

He was a great player but probably would have been better going straight into coaching as an assistant. He's losing respect in his commentary role as each game goes by. I think he should give the Media gig away and go into a club next year as an assistant. Work his way up to senior coach...

    Can anyone shed some light.....?

Question for you all. At most games this season i've noticed that as soon as a player kicks a goal for the Pies, they go straight to the bench afterwards. The runner doesn't seem to get to all of them before that goal so I wonder, is this is a strategy that the players know about already...

Get ready for high farce at TD this weekend

$100 i'd say, maybe between $80 - $100. Its a good quality game and they're ripper seats. Definitely $100 if they have the TV's.

Get ready for high farce at TD this weekend

So its going to be a big game, whoop di doo. If people were organised they'd already have their tickets. The medallion club might look empty but its always full, you just can't see that most fans are sitting behind the glass in the restaurant or the bar. The carlton v hawthorn game was a...

    Rocca - 1 Week...What a joke !!

I resent this comment. You always here it from the crowd "its not netball ump". But to be honest, no its not because in Netball the players are allowed more contact. I'm a netball umpire and yes contact is a rule but different to football the players are allowed to contest for the ball. The...

    Nearly sold out

Because the game was a Carlton home match so all the Carlton corporate hospitality (Presidents dinner etc) were fed up and had gone home or had gone back into the room to the bar.

    Why Does James Hird....... ?????

A few years ago someone asked him this question and he said he liked wearing the long sleeve because he thought his arms were a bit like chicken wings so he keeps them covered up. I must admit, he does look funny when he wears the short sleeve.

    The Number 5 Jumper ..

I think they should give it a break for a year and then bring it back. It shouldn't be retired forever like Darren's. I'm still cranky they didn't retire Gavin Brown's for a year.
  23. R

What player's number did you wear as a kid?

26 on all jumpers - Gavin Brown of course. If I had to put a number on today it would be a tough battle between 39 and 30. Love them both.

    The MCG Surface???

this isn't the first time they've done that. I remember a similar round happened last year, something like Richmond v Melbourne at TD on the same day as Doggies v Saints at the G. Unusual.

    The MCG Surface???

I recall seeing a similar post to this a few weeks ago and everyone got on their high horse because nothing bad could possibly be said against the McG. Good on you guys keeping an open mind and giving credit where its due. The McG on the new stand side is definitely struggling, it doesn't help...

    Telstra Dome roof

The roof is closed for all wet weather matches and all night matches. Night matches to make it comfortable for the crowd. The AFL get money to have it on TV but also want bums on seats so they want people to come along if its cold or miserable.

Why'd we get rid of Woewodin?

    Is this a joke thread?

    Your first number

Same for me. Whenever you see him run of the coaches box these day's, I still think he could throw the boots on and get out there! He's a star!

    Favourate Players that Fizzeled

Damien Adkins, Brent Tuckey, Chris Curran. Was a big fan of Brett James before he went back to Adelaide and won 2 premierships!! Luke Godden was good. Andrew Pugsley was another name I saw mentioned before. I still wished we'd never got rid of Sav - was proud to be at his final game last...

    Cameron Cloke vrs Chris Bryan

Too soon to tell. Wait until the end of the season when the 'new club rush' has worn off. Everyone plays well at a new side because they want to impress. You can't call it at this early stage.
