I hope we don't see a decrease in the number of playing teams this season. It looked like it was a pretty big drop last year and Fantasy just keeps steamrolling along. I do play both but enjoy this a lot more for strategy. And my strategy last year absolutely tanked!
Anyway, my current team is...
Finished with 2343 and having to field Durham and Parker. Final ranking of 133.
Wasn't too bad this season. I actually started with Miller and brought in Lyons and Keays pretty early. Struggled with rookie picks, some were plain rubbish, some I should have held for longer.
Now sitting at 161 after 2362 with some challenging scores. What’s funny though is my fantasy team has scored about 4000 points less & I’m ranked about 17k. Lol. Go figure. With 2 trades a week I struggle to even field a team in that game!
Looking at 3/4 time I can only laugh at my own comment. And no, I didn’t get him in. I guess if I did he’d probably score a 50 though so it makes perfect sense really.
For me it's a toss up between Danger, Sidey (been ok of late), Langford (good run of form uncertain how long it will last), Dusty (depends when he's interested).
I'm actually holding off the temptation to trade Gulden to RCD. He has another week before the rise and Gulden has a pretty obtainable BE (69). Even if he falls short he won't lose much money and gives another week to see how RCD goes. When teams hit tonight will give a sight what to do with...
I play Fantasy out of habit as well but invest far more time into RDT.
It’s funny though and I wonder if anyone thinks the same but Fantasy feels like what you would play at school with your mates...you play RDT when you become an adult. 😂
I like the idea of Stephenson but I also don’t like the idea of the players due to come back in. Will be interesting to see how he scores this week in any case.
Tom Hickey, wow! And to think I actually had him as R3 when I first started to put my team together. Was in my team for like a week.
Moved heaven & earth to go Gawndy for the first time ever to only see that. Keep telling myself, it’s just R1, it’s not Fantasy, it will be ok 😂 1570 (c) with 5 to go
You would think Scott's JS is pretty shaky yeah? Especially for the backline at the Dogs? There's a few waiting in the wings and Wood still yet to return.
Yeah I just don’t think Hunter will be around long enough to generate enough cash to warrant it. Not in RDT anyway. I would even have Fullarton over him as R3
Could start with Hunter, Flynn and Meek. Can you imagine how strong the other lines could look for 1 week?
I only say 1 week because no doubt after that, everything would go down in flames and it would be carnage trying to fix it!
There appears to be value across all other lines to varying degrees. So are there really value picks in the rucks, enough to justify them starting on the field? Some will say the value is just going Gawn/Grundy so you don't have to use trades to get them later and you can just focus on cash...
Witts absolutely burnt me last year and yes I know he wasn't a 100% etc but it so hard to 'go back there'! I think English could well benefit the addition of Martin to the Rucks. Martin can do the grunt work and English can roam around and do stuff (hopefully). I currently don't have either but...
Obviously different in this game but who is going to bench Williams for 1 or just leave him out altogether? He is currently my D4 & I think I may sit him on the pine for one week if everyone else gets a run.
I think cash generation is the biggest issue and is where a lot of us got caught out last year. Even more so if there happens to be an injury early on like what happened to Naismith and then it feels like you are forever chasing.
Yeah I'll hold him for now. A lot of time to pass before we get to that stage so who knows what could happen. If not Whitfield, I would probably go Stewart.
Sunday version. Seems to change daily.
Don’t mind it so far for balance. Spent most of the money but definitely flexible for changes.
Backs:
Lloyd, Whitfield, Williams, Houng, Loung, DGB
Mids:
Gaff, Laird, Taranto, Cerra, Anderson, Hately, Perkins, Whillips
Rucks:
Big O, Preuss
Forwards...
