    Central Highlands Part 3

$30 to $50k is nothing and every club in Victoria should be able to generate that amount of cash as a minimum these days. Memberships, sponsorship, fundraising, bar, gate, and canteen can get you there without too much stress.

What's happening in the Bendigo Football League #3

They are still having trouble being embraced as "Ballarat's team". Also, they dominated the BFL for a long time. Square has hardly done that. North have massive money also.

What's happening in the Bendigo Football League #3

Decent post but this last bit is not the way to go. To compare Golden Square and North Ballarat is not comparing apples to apples. North Ballarat was one of, if not the most powerful clubs in country Victoria. 14 flags between 1975 and 1995. 5 flags in the 1990's and then the entrance to the...

Who helps them set the odds for these games? Surely they don't go off stats alone.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Everything suits CL here in my opinion. They are coming in the hunter, possibility of a wet day, great form last week, and they have the confidence they can get it done on the big stage. Despite the season Skipton has strung together, there would still be doubts in their minds. They would much...

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

I can't either but I would rather see the top 2 teams only be rewarded with the double chance. It rewards consistent form throughout the home and away season. More than 50% of the teams playing finals is just stupid. Another 2 teams would be ideal.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Find me a league where a team loses 2 out of every 3 weeks and still is in finals contention. At 4-11 none of these teams even deserve to be even mentioned in the same sentence as finals. I like the top 4 system and think it would suit this league well.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Three teams with 4 and 11 records fighting it out for 5th spot. It is laughable. :thumbsd: Top 4 please Wardy.

Followed this league long mate? He is the LPFL. Sportsbet take note.

Might just hold onto this quote for September. Juicy odds at sportsbet if you really think the Hoppers have a chance. My money is literally on someone else.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Let's not forget that CL is one of the greatest performing teams over the last decade in country footy. 5 of the last 7 flags are hanging at Linton. Skipton is also a decent September performer taking the other 2 of the 7. That's not because Rokewood choked. That is because CL has caught onto...

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

The only reason I have gone with Navarre for 5th or 6th is the fact that they continually get talked up in the preseason and never match expectations. I agree on the rest though.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

I don't know how tight it will be. CL and Skipton should be a fair bit in front of the rest competing for first. Rokewood and Illabarook to fight for 3rd. Navarre and Lexton for 5th. Natte trying hard not to let Ararat's grip of the spoon come to an end.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Fulford was in my opinion Rokewood's best midfielder and second best in the league. I rate Blackford very highly but I felt Fulford was a better contributor in the games I saw them play which included finals. He was a blond haired guy who would not get the credit for his hard work as it was at...

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Augustine has been training with East Point I heard. I think Blackford, McNamee and Fullford are much bigger losses to last year's team than Augustine. I won't go writing them off yet. Still top 3 in my opinion.

Is sportsbet doing LPFL footy again this year. I'll be going big on CL if they are.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Mullane-Grant would no doubt be in the top 10 at the very least. I would hazzard a guess and say he would step in the top 5 on reputation but I'm only going on what I've heard.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

CL would be venturing into unbackable odds territory IMO.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

To be perfectly honest, the Eagles will probably have to pay a heap to get a good team. Long drives to games, terrible track record and better clubs with better geographic leagues to play in the district. Pitch that to a potential recruit without offering some money. I'm sure most of the...

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Even if they are paying it, it doesn't matter. If a club can pay it and sustain it year after year it then there is nothing wrong. When a club promises more than they can sustain yearly or for that season, it gets ugly.

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Who gives a shit what he is on? That is the club's and his business alone. Footy money talk is always inflated and I have never heard a correct figure when it comes to bigfooty or silly season talk.
  22. O

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Good points. The positive is that in LPFL you should be able to turn a poor performing club around in 2-3 years and all clubs pay realistic amounts out per annum that they will be able to sustain. I can't see many teams in the CHFL turning themselves into finals chances without unsustainable...

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

I respectfully disagree with the stronger and more even comment. I will make the statement now that CL, Skipton and Rokewood will not be beaten by anyone lower than them for the entire year. There will be no 2009 senior flag flying at any other club than the above mentioned 3.
  24. O

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Natte by that logic. We've heard nothing from that way so I guess it will be a wait and see. I would say that Whacker is right. The pointy end shall remain the same. CL, Skipton, Rokewood. I think there is too much against the other teams in bridging the gap. Travel, money and culture are 3...

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

Banockburn I think. He won the GDFL goal kicking so he'll be handy. No idea about Augustine. That is the first I have heard of it.
  26. O

Lexton Plains Football League Part 2

The hole in the forward line should be filled by Tom Mullane-Grant. I've never seen him play but he is apparently an excellent full forward. He would be favourite to win the league goal kicking at short odds I would imagine.

LOL. Papers are printing articles about 'talks' with players these days:confused:

The top line is true. There is talk that the bottom line is unlikely.
  29. O

    Lexton Plains Football League

That is a pretty big coup for Rokewood and the league. There were whispers of this so it will be interesting to see how this one plays out for the Hoppers.

    Lexton Plains Football League

Hutchins won the B&F from memory so I'd guess he he would be a loss. Is this all you came here to do? If it is, tone it down and post something constructive because garbage posts like this will be the end of bigfooty. How about you tell us how Natte are shaping up for 2009?
