Very odd decision by HQ - interesting to see what would have happened if OX snuck into 4th...
Cracking games this weekend. My Tips...
Premiers - Uni Blacks
Runners Up - Scotch
Woodrow - Kruse or Bentick
Coaches Award - Humphrey (DLS) or Taft
Correct. FWIW OS will knock of Bernies this week, with UB and Bernies locking in double chance they can afford to "rest" players. Cracking set of games left, expecting a bit of bite out of StB, De La and OB to avoid relegation. No games set in stone yet!
Agree with these. Scotch Bernies in the coming weeks should be a cracker. Xavs sit behind those 2 in premiership odds for me, will have to win 12 on the trot to make the Granny (stranger/not so strange this have happened)
Uni Blues are a very solid side but to say they are a Premier top 4 side says more about the mentality of the 'B Grade' teams than it does about Blues!
Couldn't agree more re: top 3 set - although I'm still wary to write off Xavs just yet. More than capable of a win Vs Bernies this weekend which would really open the door.
Morning coffee hadn't kicked in... I'll take Richards (STB) as my sub. But knowing the treatment Watts gets from umpires wouldn't be surpirsed if he polled well!!
Very bold, but i'll also use the same disclaimer on how hard it is...
Premiers Old Xavs. Class, depth and the right age/games played mix means they are the ones to beat again.
Runners Up Uni Blacks - same reason as above, although McCauley and Richardson (half year?) are out the ins cover...
Write off Xavs and Collegians and your own peril... Not much said about the other blue and gold team, they'd be very happy they way they're going about it also.
Last year the top 4 teams were set after round 3... wouldn't expect the same this year.
I think young Broc shopped himself around to a few clubs, wouldn't be surprised if Bernies was one of them.
Add Richardson into the Blacks and you think they'd be more than comfortable this season
Few students bored in the dorms I think...
Back to the real stuff, tips for this week.
Beauy over Bedes
Collegians over Panthers
Cards over Blues
Bernies over Blacks
Xavs over De La... just
looks like the premiership is heading down bayside way (sorry mick, not hampton)
minor slip up from caulfield and brighton hitting their straps to storm home ala carey 2010
Would have to be SKOB v Bernies for match of the round wouldn't it! All eyes on whether Bernies are done for and whether SKOB are real contenders after their round 1 hiccup?
BS any word on that Gabelich fellow for you lot? Moves pretty well on footage I've seen (surely not related to the great Ray)
speaking with bernies assistant coach at the local watering hole last night. wasn't making excuses told me his team were poor (not his words) again but also have 8 definite starters out. but can 1/3rd of a team make that much difference?
also good to see gia back amoungst the goals this week...
Beau v OI - hoers by a few kicks
Brighton v Oakleigh - OB easily
Caulf v Hampton Rov - caulfield side full of confidence (maybe arrogance?)
Blacks v Bernies - toss of a coin falling blacks way
St Kevs v Marc - SKOB to bounce back
undermanned, unfit and undiciplined bernards down at the pit yesterday. was looking forward to the byrne-merrington combination yet neither played. take nothing away from caulfield, very impressive
Hampton vs St Kevins- skob after last years embarassment
Old Ivanhoe vs Old Brighton - OI's just
Marcellin vs Uni Blacks - blacks home and hosed
St Bernards vs Caulfield -bernies by plenty
Oakleigh vs Beaumaris - oakleigh... but who cares
