Occy, not sure I ever said we were in the relegation zone, just pointing out that 30 points is a good result thus far, its a long 7 weeks to come, anything can happen. Just happy to have avoided relegation, next aim is a spot in the top 4.
OB have certainly stepped it up, looks like Oakleigh, OI, and Bernies are safe and Marcellin and Hampton gone. In reality only 6 games left as most except SKOB and OI will play Hampton, a certain victory it seems each week.
So Marcellin have to win 3 of those 6 and hope one of the others above doesnt win any, which would seem unlikely.

Fair point there Brian, I tipped Marcellin thinking it was their last chance and with so many top players out at SKOB I thought maybe they could sneak in. But don't write Hampton off - they are still capable of an upset - just look at late last year when they had little to play for.

The Chief has gone Mad.....

Do the VAFA Tribunal Committee believe in 1 week suspensions. What about letting players off when they have video footage and either dont accept to view it or would rather take the word of the umpire rather than the footage. The tribunal committee members need to pull their heads in, because the players pay to play in this league. Every case that goes before the tribunal is a minimum of 2 weeks suspension most times if you accept the early plea.

Not all players that come before the committee are guilty, sometimes the umpires have a power trip during a game and get away with it. yes there are some who are guilty, but come on, we all know you face no chance of getting off, unless the opposition pleads you are innocent, even then your unlikely to get off. These members would rather put a price to the charge, and hope that no1 is game enough to come into HQ to challenge the prescribed penalty. BUt when you do challenge the initial penalty, the committee members are only more sour, and add an extra week.

Pull your head in you chumps.
Try judge each case as its own, and understand that footy is our escape from lifes stresses, we arent paid to play. Not everyone is guilty you stiffs.

One of our boys got off earlier in the year after video evidence was submitted, but speaking to him after the hearing he said the old fogeys on the panel couldn't seem to make out what was clear to the rest of us on the footage. He made contact with a player's arm in a marking contest that resulted in a 3rd player in the contest being hit high by friendly fire and was upended by the contact. Apparently the ump tried to crucify our bloke saying he made the contact (with intent mind you), but fortunately the opposition player looked after him and gave an account that was far more accurate in that he attempted to spoil a mark. However, even as the panel delivered their verdict our player was convinced he was going to get a holiday. Sounds like they need some fresh faces in there.

Hampton V Old Brighton - The pain continues!
Old Ivanhoe V Oakleigh - The home side will get home, but the Krushers will be keen to atone for their last outing.
Caulfield V Marcellin - Despite some injuries, the leaders will be too good at home against a desperate Eagles outfit.
Uni Blacks V Beaumaris - They are up and down, but this week they will be up.
St Kevins V St Bernards - This will be the upset as SKOBs injuries catch up a little.
