intrigued by this too. I was 30 years membership this year and got sweet FA for it. Old man is about 7 years ahead of me and is just standard gold. I think I read somewhere it’s the top 500 members who are platinum but no idea what that means in terms of membership years
I work in product management so can make some educated assumptions around what’s going on
The AFL P&L, like all companies P&L are highly variable and dependant on a number of items. The AFL would’ve been waiting for seasons end as they would’ve had a clearer picture on what revenue they were...
you’ll be waiting a while, I just ticked over 30yrs and old man is 36, neither of us have it.
the fact I missed out on a ticket to hawks game but picked up a general admin seat shows how valuable this membership is right now
The tassie deal could do more damage than good this season. Under the assumption home teams get first preference there’s a very real possibility with top tier membership we could only see 7 games this season and losing ability for the 4 “home games”. I fear this will stop many from signing up...
While the overarching rhetoric has been about saving lives,as it should be, there's very much a desire for Victoria to fall in line with the rest of Australia to protect the economy that has been untouched in areas that have been covid free. The only way to do that is to eradicate the virus...
Great to see you jump to the assumption that I'm talking about WA when I never mentioned it.
I see you "contributing" a lot to this thread but really what you're here for is to gloat about how good your life in WA is compared to us poor souls in Victoria. You sound like an awesome person to be...
I doubt all clubs could survive another year like this. As much this is a national competition, the reality is 10 of 18 teams reside in Victoria. Don't forget that many of these clubs invest into things like pokies, pubs etc which are all shut in Victoria still. A few Vic clubs at minimum...
You barely had a lockdown. What frustrates me more is people throwing us their expert opinions without ever living it. Of course we dont want this effort to be for nothing. It could be into 2021 to achieve what your asking at which time Victoria will be ****ed.
Unless you’re living it, it’s hard to understand. it’s mentally and subsequently physically draining. The next 3 weeks need to show big percentage drops from today’s baseline otherwise new plan is required. Simply can’t live like this long term.
Completely agree.
I haven't been able to see family and friends living all over Australia all year, same goes with family in rural for Victoria for that matter. One of my mates sister has cancer and he hasn't been able to return to Melb to help her out with the kids as he'd be coming down for...
Not just the players in hubs. Many on this forum are all die hard supporters and if we can't physically be there we still support our club - and most importantly, still support it financially. Not everyone can and will do that though.
Even for me, footy is not just about winning and losing...
Why is it crazy talk? If we have to learn to live with it in Victoria do you think other states will open up to us if there's no vaccine? They sure as hell won't be sending any of their residents in and out of Vic nor let Victorians come in and out of their state.
I'm not sure how a...
Congrats.
I cant get my head around why they would do this. My little one was born very prematurely. I missed the birth completely and had to say goodbye and leave her in NICU every night for nearly 3 months. It sucked and the biggest thing I found was I was unable to develop a bond with my...
Be interesting to see where Victoria goes in next couple of weeks. If things get out of hand I wonder if we follow a path similar to Europe rather than elimination like rest of Australia.
While it seems ludicrous, who knows, Victoria may open up international boarders before domestic given...
was chatting with a few of the boys over lunch just prior to current lockdown and one of them posed the following;
would you turn around to your grandma tomorrow and say “hey granny, we tried for a few months but no good, sorry but you‘re on your own”. None of us said yes
now, if you posed the...
we need to seriously consider what stage 4 actually means though. It’s not just your local coffee shop or Bunnings that closes. Pretty much everything does with thousands upon thousands of sole traders going out of work and unable to pay bills. The ramifications are huge but on the flip side so...
I get Annastacia's positioning this as a win for her own state because after all they're the people that vote her into power but I can't stand her. "We're saving those poor soles and giving them something to watch".
I'd prefer the rest of the country help with saving lives right now than...
I've got a house down the coast that I spend most weekends at but am staying put in Melbourne for the greater cause even though I'm in Yarra which has very few cases. Interestingly if we don't go to our house for 6 weeks our insurance lapses which is pretty standard on many insurance policies...
Yep, I'm 30 years AFL member this year (nothing to mark the occasion) yet missed out on a seat to the Hawks v Tigers qtr final the other year. Glad they have put in place a tiered system for finals but I was filthy at the time.
I could handle getting booted from level N but being booted from...
