Agree to disagree
Performance on the field is important but sponsors do not want to be associated with these type of incidents. You and I know that they are not involved, but they want to be associated with cleanskin companies which reinforces their images blah blah. This type of thing is...
Usually I am accustomed to read dramatic front page splashes about the Bulldogs disgraceful behaviour, only to sigh relief when it is about the Canterbury Bulldogs. This time I wasn't so lucky.
Cannot understand the thinking of the guy. Obviously he doesn't know what responsibility means and...
I hope we become better people after this horrible event is over. Learn that people is more than the mighty dollar. Pay healthcare workers more because they deserve it. Understand that time is the most precious commodity in life. Spend more time with family and loved ones. Respect our elderly...
The thing I serious cannot understand is in a country with a population of 3 million(?) surely they can find a better candidate than him. It is staggering.
As much as I think Trump is a total loose cannon and cares more about his publicity than he does his own people, the ONLY positive...
I wonder how the preppers in Sweden are going. They are about 4-5 years ahead of the world.
On a serious note, what I learned from that was that we rely too much on our government. We expect them to do everything for us. Not to much with that as it is their job to care for its citizens, but we...
I admire your left field thinking and creative thought but I don't think it passes the realistic test(to put it mildly).
Don't feel bad about it or take it to heart, it gave me something to think about and try to work out a scenario to at least partially back your claim. Unfortunately I...
I received more joy, happiness and a match I will never forget from the prelim final against GWS than the grand final against Sydney.
Reasons I never thought we would beat GWS but thought we would beat Sydney, The drama of the game, The drama in the last minute, Stringer kicking to Dickson to...
Probably a really stupid question as its not my area of expertise.
Seems there are two arguments
!)Close the schools for public health concern and
2) Leave the schools open so students don't miss a year of school
Um, can't we do both. Have the students at home and surely in this technological...
A) No
b)100% yes
c) Not sure. Would belive yes or no. They trapped residents in their flats in their flat who they were suspected of having in it so they couldn't get it sodifferent method to what you suggested but same outcome.
The other thing we have to remember is that every country has a...
Agree with this. They should be still earning more than most people(who have a job) and should be grateful than that. The whole costs of the AFL have to reduce signicantly because we have little say over our revenues and our negotatiing position is unusually great.
IMO we should have the teams...
It also depends on how hard it hits us and the economy. No one knows this and anyone who says it is guessing. Players shouldn't be negotiating their salaries now. How about waiting to see how Australia fares first? In a worst case scnerio plaers could be playing on 15-20$ of their salary and...
Well I would assume next years season would require television or some sort of electronic media for each game. For that, they need every team playing to make the 9 games. The AFL(or the 20% left over - what a disgrace that is) will also need to add a few bells and whistles to sponsors and fans...
IMO the season should never have been played in the first decision. I know the AFL need the cash from the TV rights but gee this is one of the most brainless decisions by the AFL and there has been a lot. They took great precautions with the health of the spectators which is to be admired but...
While I would put this performance as a "room for improvement"
I would really ask doggie posters tom have a minute or two seconds thought time before smashing the players with a baseball bat.
Consider the fact that all week Australian citizens all week have been ordered by the prime ministers...
Why do you say that? The majority of posts that I have read about our trading period has been incredibly positive.
The idea of a forum is that you have people giving their individual opinions on a topic. That is how people learn. When it gets to the point that posters are railroaded into...
No problem Josh :)
Everyone has different opinions so we arn't going to agree on everything. You made a point and rationalised it so I respect your opinion. I will be in the minority opinions on a lot of these trades this week, but still am interested in what other people have to say.
As per tradition, I have done the summary :)
WIN/WIN FOR BOTH SIDES WITH TODAYS DEAL?
We think so. Both boys were early draft picks, both number 11's. And now both boys have an opportunity to ressurrect their football career.
WHAT CHANGED WITH EVERITT
He has had an...
What happens if the AFL changes the rule at the end of next year though back to what it is now?
I know what you are saying about Skipper. Most posters called Skipper a list clogger. And for all intensive purposes he was. But he was only that because Minson and Hudson wern't injured that...
Ahhh. I just wrote practically the same thing on another thread.
It makes to hard to win premierships without champions, A graders and game breakers. And the best way to do that is through your first round draft picks.
In a way it is unimportant what we think as fans but every organisation...
Everitt was a first round draft pick at number 11 and drafted in front of Jack Riewoldt. So he has talent. We have given him up for Veszpremi and pick 73. IMO it is a shocking deal. Either we have failed in our recruiting due diligence or we have failed in our player development and our ability...
Agree with all that. But IMO he went further than that, and made a fundamental mistake that many clubs have made in the trade/drafting history. He overrated his list. And by doing so, thought that by topping up with recycled players he could win the premiership. He saw St Kilda almost win the...
The game I remember him most fondly of was the game before the one you mentioned. It was a semi final against Sydney, and he was recalled after being played in the VFL for some weeks. His attack on the ball for a guy playing his first final was fantastic. He set the standard in the first quarter...
For 2010 his disposal efficiency was 66.30%. Which means for the 2010 season he would be 29th highest for our list out of the 33 players who played. Our only players who have a worse 2010 record are Boyd, Minson, Hooper(1 game), Jones and Callan(1 game).
He still has a year to go on his contract.
They signed him last year on a 2 year deal to prevent the specific situation that you describe. If he is under contract, the club has the upper hand in negotiation as the player cannot go into the national draft or PSD.
