Nah that’s a shit yellow. Unlucky but DCL had his eyes on the ball the whole time. If old mate doesn’t go down it’s a foul and nothing more. We aren’t going on outcomes instead of intent. That’s an AFL thing
And he’s gone.
Was he the future? Absolutely not
But for a relegation scrap, with both a poor and threadbare squad, absolutely. And we had both of those things the past few seasons.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Let’s hope it’s a justified decision by the club.
Takeover finally official. Can finally start getting out of this weird limbo period and look forward - whatever that is?
Let’s just avoid relegation and start fresh next season. New stadium. New owners. Hopefully the right manager for the job and some new faces on the pitch.
Let’s *****ing go
It was dour, oftentimes difficult to watch but dammit we were determined and it got us as point with some decent defending against one of the best set piece teams in the league.
Really love the effort and getting some reward for it towards the end. Controlled it so well for so long and really should have had 1-2 more goals. Some great pressure causing turnovers
We could have 5. Their keeper either kept getting in the way of DCLs shots or DCL just kept kicking them straight at him
Gladly take the 3 points, clean sheet and away win. Especially against fellow relegations battlers, who sadly look like they’re going down
Ahh dockerland. That takes me back.
I remember the George Grlsuich desktop avatar you could get. He would walk around your taskbar and spout BS opinions about footy
It makes it harder for us as fans to not focus on ex players winning flags when our club seems so incredibly inept and not looking like getting one any time soon.
I’m sure players who left from 2012-15 weren’t seen in as much bad form because we were up there competing.
It’s easy to turn away...
Absolutely they do. It’s a team effort to get there. Grand finals aren’t played in a vacuum.
Minimum games played determines eligibility for anyone who doesn’t play on the day.
Result ended up being like an extra spoonful of sugar in a bottle of full fat coke - not gonna make much of a difference but still sweeter. Hope you’re still partying
While this would be ideal, it makes more sense to simply ignore the player from the voting once they are rubbed out.
I know this opens up issues if a player gets suspended round 1 v round 23, however it seems really silly to continue to give votes to an ineligible candidate.
If a politician...
The ineligibility for being suspended is as dumb rule in the sense that you still poll votes for something you can’t win.
What even is the point of the umpires voting for someone if they can’t win? They’re out of the running so why deprive votes for someone who might be the fourth best player...
Yeah but **** Carlton. Hate them more than the mob up the road.
Also it was a wild ride and had fun. Even if we ****ed things by not holding on to a lead against port (twice!) and not switching on earlier against the pies
7/10 would ride again
Similar to the rumours about Subiaco in the WAFL back here and getting huge ups when subi was THE home of WA footy. Since the AFL moved away from Subi to Optus, Subi habe - unsurprisingly - fallen on harder times.
