FWIW, I've worked at a venue that Carr has held shows at, and staff are notified beforehand of potentially offensive content and can withdraw their availability for the event if they want. (And same for any similar events.)
I suspect this is commonplace.
I get nervous having Cats players in my team because I worry I'm bad luck (of course this doesn't make any sense but feelings are stupid, what can I say), maybe it's something like that.
I appreciate the info! I was struck by how good he looked last week, and then saw he'd had those good few weeks too. I'm looking at someone who I can potentially chuck the E on, so the Saturday night game might be a stretch for me, but still tempting.
Popping in here for the first time in a while.
Like most of you I'm scraping the barrel for bargain picks. There are a few guys who I haven't watched too closely and wondered if anyone has thoughts:
Mitch Hinge: I know bugger all about him but he looked good last week and has been scoring...
Can't believe Jez Cameron is playing with (as far as I'm aware) his partner in Victoria and ready to pop a baby out!
As for scores I'm on 1727 with 4 (Ginbey, Serong, Darcy, Gulden) to go. Quite a bit riding on Serong and Darcy since I feel each could go 80 or 130. Probably just an average week...
I am pretty tempted, but the main thing that concerns me is he took a couple of really heavy knocks this week. Obviously he played through and played well, but does it hinder him moving forward?
(I say this as someone who avoided Clayton Oliver because of his thumb issues...that didn't really...
Owies subbed at least means Cowan can't be. And they have three injuries (bad for those guys personally of course) which means more TOG for the rooks. Silver linings and all that.
Edit: theoretically at least (Cowan still on the bench).
Should've put Bergman on field but I hadn't watched much of him so picked Cowan instead. In hindsight even though I've seen more of Cowan it's not like he's looked great so this was unwise.
Lots of people complaining about them both but I don't understand why. This was perfectly predictable and that needed to be part of any coach's risk assessment. Needed to be prepared for them to be dropped from round two onwards, but with the hope that they'd each get a few weeks and make some...
To be fair to the people running the fantasy comp, I'm not sure there's much they can do about a guy getting calf tightness five minutes before the game. Though SC players have some legit gripes since their servers apparently couldn't cope with the influx of users trying to change their teams.
Well I guess it's pretty good that I didn't bring Cameron in. (The fact that he scored about the same as Whitfield when I had him makes it feel even worse or maybe better?)
I talked myself into Lachie Whitfield in round one so I really need to think about the possibility that I'm about to destroy my season, but I'm giving serious thought to fading Setterfield this week and trading in Darcy Cameron (who'd be my F5) instead.
Setters is an excellent player and I have...
I've played SuperCoach forever but this is the first year I've really paid it proper attention (usually I'm just Fantasy, and forget to update SC). I'm actually enjoying the differences this time, but the VC/C thing is tough.
Tossing up between captaining Darcy vs Dunkley, the reasoning on...
Thought I'd be clever and start Jelly and Whitfield instead of Cogs and Green. Obviously it sucks for them most, but watching the GWS-Adelaide replay has been, at best, dispiriting.
I don't think this invalidates my claim; I wasn't disputing the position change. I was just saying he looked cooked (and his second half TOG would indicate that too).
