I am pretty tempted, but the main thing that concerns me is he took a couple of really heavy knocks this week. Obviously he played through and played well, but does it hinder him moving forward?

(I say this as someone who avoided Clayton Oliver because of his thumb issues...that didn't really work out for me.)

As an aside, I'm pretty sure that a few years ago there was more or less consensus that Wood was a bottom 5% AFL player. I love that he's turned things around so dramatically. Must've taken a lot of hard work and guts. Great story; it's a shame we don't have many (any?) good footy journos to tell it (Martin Flanagan is always the one that comes to mind as the prototype of what I mean).

As for scores I'm on 1727 with 4 (Ginbey, Serong, Darcy, Gulden) to go. Quite a bit riding on Serong and Darcy since I feel each could go 80 or 130. Probably just an average week all up though.

Having Mackenzie on the bench but Cowan, Callaghan, and Hollands on field sucked.
