1997 - Hawthorn - the game he was 'rubbed out'.
He was brutal but fair in the 2nd quarter. His attack on the ball as so hard that he had players getting out of his way.
Kevin Bartlett in his half-time summary said as much as "Hawthorn were frightened of him and it was one of the best quarters he...
Worth remembering that a couple of years back when Franklin was 'on fire'and dominating every other team; the only backman who regularly beat him was Williams. Hope he can stand up as he is a fantastic acquisition for the team.
If my memory serves me correctly ... in the game that led to Grant's suspension he was simply stunning - powerful and aggressive.
At half Kevin Bartlett, who was calling the game on radio, was in awe of Grant and described how opposition players were getting out of his way.
Grant was amazing...
What an odd comment Gus ...
Now continuing in the vain of 'manners don't cost a thing, boys' can I expect to see 'Thanks pabart for making the suggestion'?
:(
Re: Training Reports: Ryan Griffen
Richmond have always been noted for there ability to look the part but still retain the ability to 'party'.
Perhaps the real drill here is making sure you can get a drink in a crowd!
Here is a good reason why we shouldn't go near them with a barge pole ...

Haven't changed to Western Bulldogs ... never will.
Silly marketing gimmick that diminishes the true origins of the team.
(too many posters here haven't stood behind the Barkly Street goals on a freezing cold winters day to truly understand what is to barrack for Footscray)
Hill playing on the wing ... lovely mover, good skills, can float forward and back, and play on the outside. I think he could be quite effective in that role.
I am glad we have kept him.
All's ok and no apology required. I come from similar origins, perhaps not quite anarchy though!
The end for me was when I started to go to the footy at Docklands and could not easily sit with my friends ... because we all had our seats. The dill I sat beside - yes a Dogs supporter and a total...
I don't think I mentioned mascots once?
Yes clubs have used mascots for ages and nicknames for a long time too ... but, and here is what I am saying ... we didn't have this silly nonsense of the nickname being part of the 'name'.
So the game was between Melbourne and Geelong (for example) not...
Well said. The whole naming thing went to the 'dogs' years ago when we were forced to use stupid monickers ... Richmond Tigers / Carlton Blues / North Melbourne Kangaroos ... smacked of wanting to sound all American.
The Americans use the animal names because the city of origin changes so...
I assume you have reserved seats at The Dome?
That's a good review on the pitfall of reserved seats; you just have to put up with those about you.
You can't really give it to Mr Negative when you know he is going to be there next week; although I do know that the club will deal with 'problem...
That's not good enough cosmicr ... you don't praise Williams. Williams role here is as whipping boy. You just can't have a whipping boy that can't be whipped. I suggest you see a Big Footy psychologist and get your head back in order!
(By the way I totally agree ... even with all his troubles...
No worries with him manipulating the media ... the only media listening to him is pretty uninfluential at its best.
I wrote when this all started that Aker has no future in the media because he has burnt too many. This is now the reality, consider who is doing his spruiking - some pretty...
I'd suggest we've moved past the stereotype of working class people being Dog's supporters ... why hell there is probably women, children and even gay people who support the team - not forgetting the amount of work the club does in the multi-cultural communities that are the western suburbs...
Did the club sack him?
He is being payed out the rest of his contract ... but he will not be picked.
It strikes me they have in effect told him to have a long break and after that you're welcome to find another home.
Acker will retire this week ... he'll be dropped / suspended and the reasons we shouldn't have recruited him - too self centred - will come to the fore and he will call it quits.
Throughout the ABC call they were mentioning players arguing with each other.
My opinion from the outside .... the...
Sure do my friend ... the media outlets might love it ... but as he burns bridges he'll have fewer and fewer stories to write and the media outlets won't continue to love it.
As of this week, Acker has no future breaking stories to write about the Brisbane Lions and most probably the Dogs...
The 2008 Heritage jumper - the jumper worn thorugh the 50's - should be the team's jumper.
Get back to basics - remove all the additional detail - it all seems 'so 1990's - 2000's '.
Honestly, I think he is finished. In a couple of weeks he will be out of the team and if the young guys bodies hold-up, Aker won't get back.
His form has been only passable and his influence on the team is becoming a negative.
Perhaps another case of a footballer going one season too long.
As...
