Preview 2024 Elimination Final Carlton vs Brisbane Saturday 7th September 7:30PM AEST @ The Gabba

Maybe if lots of people say the above . then it becomes conventional wisdom , heaps of people jump on the subject and we have a new whipping boy but Footywire stats show Young's disposal efficiency this season as 75.4% ...Weitering's is 77.6. I concede that disposals includes handballs and...

Preview 2024 Elimination Final Carlton vs Brisbane Saturday 7th September 7:30PM AEST @ The Gabba

I can't understand the negativity about Young. In both 2023 and 2024 he stood up manfully in the early part of both seasons when Weitering was unavailable. In addition, he has been good over the last couple of weeks.

    Senior 17. Brodie Kemp

I always felt Luke Livingston was treated in a similar fashion ...played by Carlton at fullback against the big gorillas when he had made his reputation as a talented CHF prior to the draft. We never got to see the best of what had been a very talented junior

    Autopsy Round 21, 2023: St.Kilda v Carlton

Have to agree re the comments about booing Stocker althoughI didn't notice it...watching the game from WA on Kayo. Hated to see him be let go from Carlton...loved his passion, physicality and footy IQ. Hope he succeeds in his footy journey.

Would have played for Carlton but for our salary cap draft bans. Story goes that when his name was called by St Kilda his mum said, "Go Blues". If true, shows where his family's desire was for him to play. Those draft bans sent the club into a long period of suffering

List Mgmt. 2022 AFL Draft & Rookie Draft

I'm conflicted over the Stocker issue. I would love to see the kid do well and fulfil his potential but at the same time would hate to see that at another club. I don't know what the total issue was with his rating within the club...obviously unsatisfactory but hard to comprehend. Looking at...

If Ben Allen's boy, Ed, is anything like his old man, I would choose him if he becomes available Edit: Just checked CAl Twomeys draft ...he has Allen at 18

News Andrew Thorburn is retaining legal counsel for wrongful termination by the Essendon Football Club. NOW WITH BIG BANGS

I have not seen the youtube videos referenced above but it was my understanding that the comments re abortion were comparing abortion rates to the holocaust numbers which has a totally different meaning and context than likening abortion to the holocaust

Resource Carlton Football Club Team List and Contract Status

No doubt it has been said before but I want to add my thanks to Aphrodite and ODN for the effort both put in to keep the rest of us informed and up-to-date with Carlton 'happenings' and statistics. Very much appreciated...thank you both.

Autopsy 2022 Round 1 - Blues BEAT the Tigers. The drought is over!

So pleased to see Setterfield get some recognition. After the naysayers were silenced by the form of Kennedy, some turned their attentions to Setterfield. I believe he, like Kennedy, will prove them wrong

Would appear so .. Being from WA, I know very little about the Central Murray League. Kicked 10 in one game and got some nice publicity

Training 2022 Training - pics, reports etc

There were some strange coaching decisions in the early 2000's. A 192cm kid (Livingston) as a full back and a couple of years later , one of the best footballers I have ever seen (Koutoufides ) thrown into the ruck. At 191cm his athleticism and leap made him competitive but I believe...

Kicked 103 goals for Kerang in one season so not so atrocious it would appear

Training 2022 Training - pics, reports etc

I thought Livingston was ill-served by Carlton. From memory he was good in his junior football as a CHF and yet was thrown when just a raw kid to play full back against the real gorilla forwards of that time. He stood no chance.

Exactly...people rail about our penalties for breaching the salary cap and maybe they were a little harsh but seriously, one can't keep 'poking the bear' and then complain about a reaction. We were not victims...we were transgressors.

Sounds similar to what I experienced. We hear the word chemo bandied around a lot and I believe we have become a little blasé about this therapy. Even though my late wife went through chemo in 1993 and I saw the horrific effects it had on her, when it came to my 'turn' 25 years later I...

Hope you're right but this appears very optimistic. Unless the chemo is a light dose and infrequent during the 12 weeks of therapy, I would think that there would be lingering effects long after 2-3 weeks. Granted, the more serious effects of chemo will have dissipated... such as nausea ...

Bluemour Season Blast Off Edition XXXIII

Brilliant by Walsh but one has to admire the maturity and game awareness of Cuningham to tell Walsh to take the shot after his goal assist handball.

    Universal Love Down Memory Lane

Thanks for that ... good memories. Being a WA supporter I don't see many games live but was lucky enough to be at Subiaco for this. Went with a couple of WC supporters and was heckled good naturedly by some of the surrounding WC supporters who were not reluctant to state at the start of the...

Bluemour Season Blast Off Edition XXXIII

I think that apart from your point 2 , every intelligent individual who was tasked with ensuring the future and the growth of our game , especially in the northern states would do exactly as you detail. I for one, although following Carlton since 1960 ( yes, I'm ancient) hope that GWs and Gold...

News Casboult finishes up - Thank you Levi

Congratulations on your career, Levi. Best wishes for your future and thanks for the efforts and the many notable pack marks. With our dearth of talls, I would have been tempted to retain him on a one year rookie contract and hope that a rest and good pre season fixed the ailing body. Stats of...

Autopsy Rd 21 Blues turn to jelly when the F word is mentioned

I haven't read the previous 26 pages, because it was too disheartening, but I did start to do so and a very common thread was to blame Teague. Sure, he must take some of the blame but a lot of our players are so conditional and so survival oriented that working for the collective good is...

True but not for the 2017 season so a little misleading. Got to Carlton in October 2017 so effectively has been with the club since 2018

    Preview RD 12 - Carlton v Eagles Sunday 6th June 3.20PM @ SCG - Team - Post #654

I would dearly like to know what Matt Kennedy has to do to get chosen, even as an emergency. People say too slow but surely his attitude, marking, disposals and effectiveness near goals more than compensate

Autopsy Rd 7 Blues beat Bombers in Epic Encounter

Fully agree. Saw this and was amazed and so impressed. Here is a 'fringe' player with the confidence and clarity of vision to point out the correct play to the team's star player. If his form from Sunday continues may no longer be a fringe player

    Analysis Statistically Speaking

I would hazard a guess that Adam Goodes would not approve either. Gibbs could do a surprisingly good run with role. Gibbs gets such a hard time from many Carlton supporters and yet wouldn't he be handy now? Averaged 23 disposals from 268 games starting as an 18yo and usually with elite...

Totally agree with your comment re toughness. Brings to mind a comment Dermot Brereton made about Craig Bradley. He said there were different types of courage and to do the hard training and gut running that Craig Bradley did took exceptional courage. I thought at the time it was one of the...

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVII

This may have been covered in earlier posts, If so, my apologies. I like what I see in Kennedy and I wish Diesel would take him under his wing and show him what is possible to 'slow' players. I know Diesel was fast in almost all categories bar leg speed but I am sure his insights would be...
