We are so lucky at New Norfolk, got out of that State-wide garbage and have enjoyed success both on and off the field!
I feel for the TSL clubs playing in an under funded comp. Governed by people being over paid for no effectiveness or improving the comp.
I went and watched the Dees and Tigers battle it out last Saturday because my magpies had the week off.
It wasn't a bad game...better than I expected! North had heaps of players out, but still won.
I reckon Hobart ran out of steam after their half time warm-up out on the ground! I couldn't...
Simple solution....Hobart tojoin the SFL and be a feeder club to North Hobart. You then have a city based club who could compete against the Clarence's and my mob Glenorchy. Re-develop North Hobart and construct a top inner city sporting facility that houses both footy, cricket and other...
You are on the money DC. Players always moan about Fitness Coaches. He reckons the guy at Hobart is way out dated and knows nothing about footy. As long as they get them fit...who cares! Although if their fitness coach spent time at The Devils, he must be ordinary!!!!:D
We have a ripper of a fitness man at Glenorchy in Andrew Dean, he used to play for Woodsdale and North Hobart, really knows his stuff. Hobart had a guy who coached little athletics....really shows because he has no idea about footy, but apparently he is ok training kids for little athletics...
I reckon Hobart will be ok!? I watched them a couple of weeks ago against some Melbourne club. Once they get a bit fitter, they will not be top 5, but competitive. Watching my magpies, they are by far rhe fittest team in the comp., closely followed by Clarence and North Hobart. I reckon Hobart...
Any news on Sorell? Is Scott Allen playing?....My Norky magpies will struggle in SFL, but we will win TSL!.......I heard that James WIggings is going to play SFL:confused:
I know my pies have had a crack at both players. Wells has a two year contract at North, hasn't missed a training run with them and is keener than ever to play well for North. His cousin is Darren Perry (President) and he feels he owes him for the way he has looked after him since moving South...
Expect Channel to host some players from North Hobart. President Bob Smith (ex- North Hobart premiership player) has offered players from North a game at Channel if they miss selection in the seniors. Seems that the North players will be at Cygnet and Channel. :thumbsu:
My magpies (Norky) chatted with Murphy, but he is going to play with North Hobart.......I reckon North will be favourites to beat Clarence!! Hoever with Ackers in our side we should be top 4.;)
Re: Demon Den
That would be a good move......he knows his footy and North need someone youger to help run the club....................although I think they could use him to help Geappen in a coaching role......................better still we would love to have him at Glenorchy!:thumbsu:
Apparently the pies may boycott the Bellerive game this week if they feel the centre wicket is too hard.
Watch this space.
Can't believe that my maggies would not play because the ground is too hard!!! God what the hell is happening to todays footballers????
Some complain if the...
Re: THE MAP (details)
Dont bag Jaimes mate? His record at Burnie and Werribee has been terriffic, wouldn't find anyone more passionate or knowledgable person to talk about Tasmanian Footy. He doesn't profess to be perfect but i guess we can't all be like you...
What about Wiggo's...
Good choice............Ben Reid is highly regarded and had great success coaching.
Don't bag out the players!!! They had every right to have their concerns!!!!!!!!!!
I hope they don't appoint someone just for an emergency!!! They need to scroll through a list of footy people in Tasmania who might be interested!
Names to consider (people with credibility and human decency, plus obvious footy nous) : Andy Bennett, Max Brown, Grant Fagan, Dale Perry, Scott...
So no body has posted the result of last nights meeting out at Glenorchy. I know the truth and all I will say is its pretty sad the way things have been handled.
Down grading Glenorchy's 2009 ladder position from 2nd to 5th.
I nearly chocked on my corn flakes this morning when I read that article in the Mercury about Devils players thinking of moving state( because of their perceived superior talent) to play in a higher comp!!!!!!
Fair enough Geappen has been a wonderful player for the devils, but seriously why...
You can't be serious! So what if he kicked two goals last year! He has also gained two stone in weight!!!
Devine might be able to kick goals at North Hobart playing against poor opposition, where he doesn't have to run and apply forward pressure to the opposition backs, however on the vast...
Devine looked embarrasing! I felt sorry for him, what a disgraceful selection!!!
It was a low light for the SFL to play him, there needs to be a change next year with the selection process!!:thumbsd:
Cornelius??? He is struggling at the moment, probably burnt out from all the footy he has played this year.
The keys ar Derba, Plapp and Ford!!!!!! Who will cover these gun forwards?????
SFL....WILL WIN BY A RECORD MARGIN! 80 plus points!!!! The only thing that will save a blow out is the...
Milbourne has been kicking a bag of goals in a side that can't play!!!! I doubt if many players could do what he has achieved this year. He is the only player the opposition targets, and they still can't shut him down!!!!
Brown is a multiple senior premiership coach and last year he got...
Isn't that Toad Perace Max Brown's chauffer? I agree about Milbourne!!! I have seen him play, and he should definitely be in the rep team.
Is Max Brown Perry's assistant???
If not he should be......Max is the best coach in Tasmania and would be able to teach Perry how to win the big games.
I read Perry is umpiring and helping the mid field at Sorell. He was a gun for North...I remember watching him play against my beloved magpies many times, use to slay us! Very strong, tough small man. He landed a few on Gourlay one day at KGV, could dish it out
Staggering Standen never made the squad!!! He is as good as any player in that comp......he kicked six goals last week from the wing! His pace and versatility would be ideal for the Latrobe oval
Curran is a very good TFL player...but won't get near Derba! Deba is too quick. They should play someone else on Derba, and get Curran to match up on a their second best tall. Scuba Stephens in the middle is one the Southerns will have to watch....and should be tagged!!
Will be a very close...
