    AFL Dream Team 2008

I have the same problem - I'm thinking Jones. He's got the ball a fair bit and looked good. Either that or sit tight and maybe wait for a Burgoyne or use a rookie(?) Spanner in the works is that Goddard is named this week - absolute DT superstar, but one should never pick someone coming back...

Not unhappy with 21 from Swallow so far, but most of his points came within about a 10 minute period. Must be hitting the pine a bit?

I think Cox and mcIntosh will be the best two ruckman at the end of the year, but I don't think it will be my goal to have them at the end. I'm planning around Simmonds improving enough to be a full year contributor.

If you want the best two rucks and you think they will be Cox and McIntosh, I reckon take them at the start. If you need to trade into them, then what you're doing is saying the value of budgeting 10% of my trades (two trades to upgrade one player?) is the dollars you're saving pre-Round 1...

    Best forward under $325 000????

Yep, Bate's out. not sure if hammy or something else, but definitely out.

Athomas: check out the last few pages here - plenty of talk about Newman - you'll have to pick trade him back in!

    AFL Dream Team 2008

Not as confident on my cheapies this year but I just had a quick look at my starting team from last year - I realise prices have increased a bit this year, but in 2007: Kosi < $140k Adcock < $160k Wow! I find DT more difficult this year than last - probably because I am reading this board...

Rucks are causing me a lot of deliberation. For a while I was considering two good rucks (whatever you fancy - throw Simminds in there if that's your call) and then putting both Hampson and Kruezer on my bench - at least one of your bench rucks will always play because they're from the same...

Lenny Hayes and Brock McLean are interesting. Last years scores are a bit down because of injury or recovery from injury. Could be looking at bigger years in 08.

Good call Turbo. I do something similar in head, but less formally. I'm not sure if I agree with needing "inside midfielders" - depeds exactly what you mean. Someone who sits out of the pack and receives the ball the easy way is ok by me for DT.

If I was good enough to play AFL (just missed out...), I would play. School wouldn't stop me.

I recokon theEliminator will be like the old top 8 system when top played 8th, 2nd played 7th - but only on a bigger scale.

AFL club insider claims their side tanked...

Betfair are a "Premier Partner" of the AFL. Its on their website right now. Major sponsor. They will not act on this.

Hoorah!! Collective Sigh of relief. I was starting to worry a bit that I couldn't hold off the threat of all my mates defecting to Supercoach. I love Dream Team.

Well played. Will you still have him this year?

    AFL Dream Team 2008

I probably would have cashed him in for Billy Brownless in the week before. (Geelong probably lost that day too hehe)

    AFL Dream Team 2008

So people have actually calculated DT scores from old games!? That's even more obsessive than sitting around reading DT internet forums late at night!

    AFL Dream Team 2008

Yep, I'm super keen on Buddy. Not at first, but the more I think about it, although he might be inconsistent, but I think it will be with higher floor and ceiling this year. Maybe he's a chance to threaten the highest ever single game DT score (although I don't know what that is)?

Kerr is playing for the Eagles this year.

    AFL Dream Team 2008

...that would be the argument if you're going to pick him, but I still reckon it's not the Cousins-Judd argument.
  21. W

    AFL Dream Team 2008

He's absolutely in for another good year. But Cousins barely played last year, and Judd was a cripple decoy in the forward line taking up a defender - that's why I think the no-Cousins-no-Judd argument is not the right one for picking Priddis
  22. W

    AFL Dream Team 2008

Yep, agreed. But he won't improve simply because Eagles have lost their midfield - they didn't really have that for the second half of the sesaon anyway. I reckon he'll just be worth what you pay for him

    AFL Dream Team 2008

I'd expect J Mac to play a fair bit this year - get the impression the coaches love him as an in-an-under-player. I've seen a fair bit of interest for Priddis this year. Why? Do people think - no Judd, or Cousins, therefore Priddis improves in '08? Granted, his price went up last year, but...
