This week is the perfect chance for the RDFL to prove to the community they are a fair dinkum organisation. The incident today at Kilmore was nothing short of disgraceful.
Acting Kilmore captain Travis Hede (was at the coin toss, don't know how he could possibly be considered a leader of...
OH MY GOD
Can't any of you people read?
Woodend-Hesket's ground has not been affected. It was Woodend Junior Football Club's ground at the old racecourse.
Mind you, would have been good if Gilbert Gordon Oval was covered in asbestos. Then someone with some common sense might FINALLY decide...
Bugger me, forgot about Goodyear. FIVE, that is a bloody disgrace. I'm off to start up a "Ban Woodend-Hesket from the RDFL" petition.
Seriously, one is a joke, two makes people nervous, but five get people really scared.
Hopefully this article comes true:
Gingers extinct in 100...
Had a bye on the weekend so thought I'd venture down to see Woodend-Hesket play Lancefield.
Was impressed with the Hawks and thought the Tigers were a bit of a shambles really, but there is something I want to get off my chest:
REDHEADS
Seriously, I thought there was an unwritten law in...
Fair call Earl. I'm just saying if you blokes had of lost against Romsey or the Kangas and Riddell went on to win their third flag in a row, we'd be saying that the Bombers are the best side in modern RDFL footy. But you guys got lucky. Everything went your way in terms of injuries, opposition...
Just had this story emailled to me. It was in the Star newspaper:
Kilmore's four, off they go
by Stuart Teather
CONTROVERSY reigned in round 13 of the Riddell District Football League (RDFL) on Saturday, with the game between Kilmore and Lancefield descending into chaos after halftime...
Have no idea why, both about the same this season. Although it must be said that I was very unimpressed with Considine in the All-Star match. All he did was get in the way of other players!! Wouldn't be the first time the Hawks made a forward a scape goat heading into the finals. They dropped...
Exactly. Plus finals is a much different game to the home and away rounds. Also, if you look closely I don't just pick the highest ranked side. Accounted for the fact that Centrals has a big home ground advantage, and the past records of some clubs. Also, I think the McInerney brothers will be...
Did the form last night and this is how I see the results panning out:
R13 - Rid d Mac, WH d MC, Lan d Kil, SK d Rom, DR d Wal.
R14 - MC d Mac, WH d Lan, Wal d Rom, DR d Rock.
R15 - Mac d Lan, WH d SK, Wal d Kil, Rom d Rock, Rid d MC.
R16 - Mac d SK, Kil d Rock, DR d Rom, Rid d Lan.
R17...
Not that I'm very smart, but I think the word opted means the person had an option of doing something or not. Therefore what pickles said was semi-correct. Lacy, Stacey, Donovan, Ng all had the option to play. But due to injuries or other commitments they chose not to. But they still didn't opt...
Ah Pickles you always seem to be the scapegoat! You must have been the only person to tip Riddell in last year's grand final. A few of the Hawks blokes certainly seem to be holding a grudge against you anyway. I think you are perhaps the only footy writer in history to make a public apology...
THEORY:
Pickles is pregnant with Robbo's baby. That is why Kilmore's best player has lodged a clearance to Tocumwal so he can make some extra cash to cover both the baby and Pickles' eating habits.
Riddell to win by five goals:
B: Bevan Green, Warren Kairns, Warren Else.
HB: Bobby Johnson, Kar Weng Ng, Craig Thompson.
C: James Wright, Leigh McInerney, Peter Robertson.
HF: Simon Choate, Mick Lacy, Brendan Chugg
F: Cam Dawson, Cole Laurie, Brian Wheelahan.
R: Jeremy Jose, Blake Whiteway...
Great post Matt, one of your finest. Some good points about Kilmore too. Saw them on the weekend, very weak side. No one willing to put their head over the ball. Shouldn't be a one-man show but it is down there. Nervous about some of your Bowen bets?
