I chose one of the options just to see if it explained more about the value packs. The next step says the value packs will be further detailed by the end of May.
Absentee seems the best option, but I would like to be clear about what the "access at club member price" means.
Are we still...
I've got some mates coming to watch the big one at my place, but my Channel 7 reception can be a bit dodgy at times and I want to make sure I've got a back up.
Are there any other streaming options for the GF ? I can't seem to find any info whether it will be shown via the freeview app, or the...
Hey guys,
Me and two mates are heading to Launceston to watch us take on Port on 2nd June. Any recommendations for accommodation ?
We all like a beer, so accommodation close to the main nightlife drag would be best
Online, phone and at outlets. A set number of tickets of similar seat quality is held for each method, however online has the most tickets allocated. I have never understood why people line up or wait on hold on the phone.
Full member upgrade offered !
I joined in 2009, and was 1,950 at the start of this year.
An end of an era after starting this thread 5 years ago. Although I still have my son and daughter on the wait list, so I'll continue to update the OP with their numbers.
Updated original post with my son's and daughters numbers.
My son jumped nearly 9,000 spots which is crazy. Just doesn't seem right that such a huge influx of AFL members would leave all of a sudden. I can't help but think they have increased the cap on full members, upgraded more people, and...
Updated OP.
Went from 5,255 to 1,950
Biggest jump in 5 years which is really strange given it should slow down at the top.
They've either had a mass exodus (possibly disgruntled pies supporters who make up double the number of any other club) or they've increased the amount of full...
Nope, we are treated the same as priority 3, which don't get the option this year.
If its a GF against West Coast, you can pretty much guarantee there will be tickets left for Silver members which are on sale next Tuesday at 9am - $370
Added my 2yo son to the OP who I joined up a month after he was born (Dec 12)
Its a pretty good system for kids under 7, pay the joining fee and they go on the waiting list. Nothing more to pay until they are 7.
2015: 22890
Also as a side note, the guy on the phone said this year they took in...
Updated OP
2011: 12,775
2012: 11,197
2013: 9,283
2014: 7,753
2015: 5,255
Interesting that last two years have been the biggest jump. Given 50% of AFL members are Collingwood club support, their form really impacts renewals I think.
Looking like another 3 years wait. I joined in 09 so 9 year...
Its random. Prior years its pretty obvious who the officials are (Guys in suits with clipboards) and as soon as they were occupied checking someone, a flurry of people would flood in.
I actually got checked at the round 22 game against the Cats, first time ever for a regular season game...
They get "shitty" because selling your ticket to a non-member then denies legitimate silver members the opportunity to buy tickets.
Do you think its fine for priority 1 hawks members to sell their ticket to a non-member, and have priority 2 & 3 members miss out ?
They say on the emails that they will ask for the membership card, and ID to prove the membership is yours. Whether they put that into practice or not is another question.
They only released the restricted view with the very last onsale which was to all Silver members (not just club support).
My mate who has Hawks club support couldn't afford the $350, so we were both hoping they would become available in the last onsale which they did and he managed to get one...
Yes, unless you want to run the gauntlet and risk not getting in and the actual member being banned.
To be honest its pretty easy to avoid the guys in suits checking people if you know what your looking for, but it is a very big risk to take. They pray on people who have bought scalped tickets...
Did anyone manage to get restricted view seats in the AFL members ?
I have a feeling they are holding them back until all other seats are sold. My mate got one last year and was just a rail in front of him which didn't bother him at all. And the restricted view ticket is $150 compared to $350...
This a very cool panorama from the 2013 grand final.
At the top of the southern stand, you will see the section numbers, so if your that way inclined you could pretty much pinpoint in on your seat.

Afl membership site will have an update on how many tix are left for silver members at 5pm.
Apparently in 2012 there were still some left even after Hawks and swans silver members had a chance to buy them. Here's hoping its similar this year
My mate say in restricted view in afl members last year and said it was fine. It was just the railing above the stairs. Well worth paying half the normal seat price, were actually trying for that again this year
Just a tip with standing room in the southern stand, the section means nothing, it's a total free for all. Get there as gates open and get a good spot and don't move. Best to be in a group and hold the spot for each person if they need to get beers etc.
If you have kids in standing room, you...
